Razzies: Worst Actress - Overview

Drag performances regularly allow male actors to break through into Worst Actress or Worst Supporting Actress. Adam Sandler's performance as his own chubby, annoying sister in "Jack and Jill" should let him make his first appearance in this category. He will proudly follow in the footsteps of nominees like "the Wayans Sisters," who were cited for their work in "White Chicks" back in 2004.

Jennifer Aniston got her first Worst Actress nomination last year for "The Switch" and "The Bounty Hunter." This year, she is back for more. By starring in a terrible Adam Sandler vehicle, she may have doomed herself for  yet another nomination even if she is not all that awful in "Just Go with It."

Already a three-time nominee in Worst Actress, Jessica Alba can do nothing right in the eyes of Razzie voters. Only last year, she won Worst Supporting Actress for her work on four films. Her turn in this flop "Spy Kids" sequel might get her noticed yet again.

It seems like Kristen Stewart will now be an annual favorite in the Worst Actress category after being cited for last year's "Eclipse," the second sequel to "Twilight." With "Breaking Dawn: Part 1" and its sequel due out next year, she will almost certainly have three consecutive nods by next year.

Adam Sandler of "Jack and Jill" may have the drag nomination all locked up. If Razzie voters are especially angry with men in drag who are grossly unfunny, Lawrence might make a showing.

Megan Fox was a supporting player in last year's "Jonah Hex," but Razzies voters didn't care. They nominated her for Worst Actress anyway. The year before, they cited her for both "Jennifer's Body" and "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." Though nobody saw "Passion Play," it was a critical flop and Fox's reviled name should be enough to get nominated yet again.

Hot off an Academy Award win for "Black Swan" last year, it seems improbable that Portman will land a Razzie nomination for her unamusing turns in "No Strings Attached" and "Your Highness." If Razzie voters really are not a fan of hers, they can nominate her for "Thor" in Worst Supporting Actor where there is less stiff competition.

Though Nicole Kidman gets a bad wrap, she has yet to get a Razzie nominations for Worst Actress. "Trespass" came and went quickly enough in theaters that she should be safe this year.

Just last year, Sarah Jessica Parker won this category along with her "Sex and the City 2" co-stars. Only a year earlier she was cited for "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" Parker is on a hot streak with Razzie voters and considering what a financial and critical failure "I Don't Know How She Does It" was, their love affair could continue.

George W. Bush was among those who won for his "performance" in 2004's "Fahrenheit 9/11." Though it is rare for the Razzies to nominate real-life individuals, those who are as divisive and phony as Sarah Palin can be understandably nominated. This propaganda documentary about her probably will rub Razzie voters in all the wrong ways.

Despite being one of the most reviled names by critics, director/actor/writer Tyler Perry has yet to collect a single Razzie nominations. He is playing Madea in drag for the umpteenth time in "Madea's Big Happy Family." He'll surely escape unscathed once again.
