Will someone new be able to squeeze into the Emmy Award battle for Best Comedy Supporting Actress for 2012 when all of last year's nominees are still eligible to return? The 2011 winner Julie Bowen ("Modern Family") and 2010 champ Jane Lynch ("Glee") could both be back. The other four nominees were Jane Krakowski ("30 Rock"), Sofia Vergara ("Modern Family"), Betty White ("Hot in Cleveland"), and Kristen Wiig ("Saturday Night Live").
The other wrinkle in this race is that Cloris Leachman ("Raising Hope") had a guest bid last year but is now part of the regular cast of her show. Since she has eight previous Emmy wins (more than any performer ever), it is very possible she might kick out one of these ladies.
Possible contenders could also include Jane Adams ("Hung"), Kristen Bell ("House of Lies"), Mayim Bialik, Kaley Cuoco, and Melissa Rauch ("The Big Bang Theory") Kristin Chenoweth and Annie Potts ("GCB"), Alison Brie and Gillian Jacobs ("Community"), Ana Gasteyer and Cheryl Hines ("Suburgatory"), Teri Hatcher, Kathryn Joosten, and Vanessa Williams ("Desperate Housewives"), Rashida Jones and Aubrey Plaza ("Parks and Recreation"), Swoosie Kurtz ("Mike and Molly"), Diane Ladd ("Enlightened"), Maya Rudolph ("Up All Night"), Eden Sher ("The Middle"), Gabourey Sidibe ("The Big C"), Holland Taylor ("Two and a Half Men"), and the other ladies from "Hot in Cleveland' (Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick).
