Until last year's victory by Loretta Devine ("Grey's Anatomy"), the past few Emmy winners of Best Drama Guest Actress have all been from "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit." Not only will Devine be back for another try, but several SVU actresses could be in the mix as well.
Past Emmy Awards winners possibly on the ballot include Debbie Allen ("Grey's Anatomy"), Barbara Hershey ("Once Upon a Time"), Camryn Manheim ("Harry's Law"), Julia Ormond ("Mad Men"), Jean Smart ("Harry's Law"), and Lily Tomlin ("NCIS").
Previous Emmy nominees are Joan Allen ("Luck"), Kate Burton ("Grey's Anatomy"), Diahann Carroll ("White Collar"), Jamie Lee Curtis ("NCIS"), Joan Cusack ("Shameless"), Louise Fletcher ("Shameless"), Marcia Gay Harden ("Body of Proof"), Lucy Liu ("Southland"), Elizabeth Perkins ("The Closer"), Bernadette Peters ("Smash"), Martha Plimpton ("The Good Wife"), and Maura Tierney ("Rescue Me").
Potential newcomers to the ballot could include Jane Adams ("Law and Order: Special Victims Unit"), Alexis Bledel ("Mad Men"), Natasha Lyonne ("Law and Order: Special Victims Unit"), Julianne Nicholson ("Boardwalk Empire"), Carrie Preston ("The Good Wife"), Anika Noni Rose ("The Good Wife" and "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit"), Chloe Sevigny ("Law and Order: Special Victims Unit"), Uma Thurman ("Smash"), and Rita Wilson ("The Good Wife").
