Emmy Awards voters love their star power in the category of Best TV Movie/Miniseries Actress as evidenced by the two most recent winners, Kate Winslet ("Mildred Pierce") and Claire Danes ("Temple Grandin"). This year's slate of candidates once again contains a number of well-known names.
Oscar winner Nicole Kidman ("Hemingway and Gellhorn") and Oscar and Emmy champ Emma Thompson ("The Song of Lunch") were nominated.
Four-time Oscar nominee (and Daytime Emmy champ) Julianne Moore ("Game Change") picked up her first Primetime Emmy bid as did Ashley Judd ("Missing").
And past Emmy nominee Connie Britton contends for the recategorized "American Horror Story."
