Nine-time reigning Emmy Awards champion "Daily Show with Jon Stewart" headlines the contenders once again for Best Variety Series.
Four of last year's nominees return to the race: "The Colbert Report," "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," "Real Time with Bill Maher," and "Saturday Night Live." The only one of these to win this category was "SNL" (1976, 1993).
And the decision by Jimmy Kimmel to host the Emmys paid off as his higher profile landed his late-night talker "Jimmy Kimmel Live" its first nomination.
