Drama Series

Of last year's five Golden Globe nominees for Best TV Drama Series, one of them - "American Horror Story" - is expected to jump over into the movie/miniseries categories as it did with the recent Emmy Awards. Would voters want to welcome back three-time champ "Mad Men" after a season away or look for a new show to take that slot?

The other possible returning nominees from the 2012 ceremony are previous winners "Boardwalk Empire" and "Homeland," "Boss," and "Game of Thrones." Past nominees in this category still eligible include "Damages," "Dexter," "The Good Wife," "House," "True Blood," and "The Walking Dead."

In a reverse situation of "AHS," also look for "Downton Abbey" to try and make the switch over from its victory as a miniseries to an attempt as a drama series.

Brand new programs trying for the top slot are "Chicago Fire," "The Client List," "Common Law," "Copper," "Dallas," "Elementary," "Hunted," "Last Resort," "Luck," "Made in Jersey," "Major Crimes," "Magic City," "Nashville," "The Newsroom," "Perception," "Revolution," "666 Park Avenue," "Touch," and "Vegas."

Quite a few shows have tried before and will be back for another effort, including "The Borgias," "Breaking Bad," "Hell on Wheels," "Justified," "Once Upon a Time," "Parenthood," "Person of Interest," "Revenge," "Scandal," "Shameless," "Sons of Anarchy," and "Suits."
