Several former Golden Globe winners appear to be in the lead positions battling to see who can take home yet another trophy this year. Ben Affleck ("Argo"), Daniel Day-Lewis ("Lincoln"), Jamie Foxx ("Django Unchained"), Joaquin Phoenix ("The Master"), Christoph Waltz ("Django Unchained"), and Denzel Washington ("Flight") have all won previously.
Other past champs on the ballot could include Christian Bale ("The Dark Knight Rises"), Matt Damon ("Promised Land"), Clint Eastwood ("Trouble with the Curve"), James Gandolfini ("Not Fade Away"), Richard Gere ("Arbitrage"), Tom Hanks ("Cloud Atlas"), Philip Seymour Hoffman ("A Late Quartet"), Brad Pitt ("Killing Them Softly"), Robert Redford ("The Company You Keep"), and Terence Stamp ("Song for Marion").
Surprisingly, Anthony Hopkins has never won a Globe before but has had six nominations. He could contend again for "Hitchcock," along with other previous nominees Jake Gyllenhaal ("End of Watch") and Jude Law ("Anna Karenina").
Among the never-nominated, the list includes Bradley Cooper ("The Words"), Daniel Craig ("Skyfall"), Joel Edgerton ("Zero Dark Thirty"), Martin Freeman ("The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey"), Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf ("Lawless"), John Hawkes ("The Sessions"), Tom Hiddleston ("The Deep Blue Sea"), Josh Hutcherson ("The Hunger Games"), Jeremy Irvine ("Great Expectations"), Aaron Johnson ("Savages"), Matthias Schoenaerts ("Rust and Bone"), Suraj Sharma ("Life of Pi"), and Jean-Louis Trintignant ("Amour").
