The Screen Actors Guild Awards voters predict far more acting wins at the Oscars than not. However, last year's ceremony was a rare miss when Viola Davis ("The Help") beat eventual Academy Awards champ Meryl Streep ("The Iron Lady"). Who will be the ladies contending at this year's SAG Awards for Best Film Actress?
The leading contenders might be previous winners Helen Mirren ("Hitchcock"), and Maggie Smith ("Quartet"), past nominees Marion Cotillard ("Rust and Bone") and Jennifer Lawrence ("Silver Linings Playbook"), and the never-nominated Keira Knightley ("Anna Karenina") and Emmanuelle Riva ("Amour").
Other past champs in the mix are Jessica Chastain ("Zero Dark Thirty"), Judi Dench ("The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel"), Helen Hunt ("The Sessions"), Laura Linney ("Hyde Park on Hudson"), Meryl Streep ("Hope Springs"), and Rachel Weisz ("The Deep Blue Sea").
Previous nominees could include Catherine Keener ("A Late Quartet"), Jennifer Lawrence ("The Hunger Games"), Kerry Washington ("Django Unchained"), Naomi Watts ("The Impossible"), Kristen Wiig ("Imogene"), and Michelle Williams ("Take This Waltz").
Rookie contenders include Maggie Gyllenhaal ("Won't Back Down"), Melanie Lynskey ("Hello, I Must Be Going"), Leslie Mann ("This is 40"), Elizabeth Olsen ("Liberal Arts" and "Therese Raquin"), Amanda Seyfried ("Lovelace"), Barbra Streisand ("The Guilt Trip"), and Mary Elizabeth Winstead ("Smashed").
