Since 2000, nine of the 12 Los Angeles Film Critics Best Cinematography winners went on to at least contend at the Oscars, if not win the Academy Award; the exceptions -- "About Schmidt" (2002), "American Splendor" (2003), and "Wall-E" (2008).

One LAFC Best Picture champ also won the Oscar: "The Hurt Locker" (2009).

Eight of the LAFC Best Picture honorees were Oscar nominees: "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" (2000), "In the Bedroom" (2001), "Sideways" (2004), "Brokeback Mountain" (2005), "Letters from Iwo Jim" (2006), "There Will Be Blood" (2007), "The Social Network" (2010), and "The Descendants" (2011).
