Best Foreign Film

Since 2000, only two of the 12 NYFCC Best Foreign Language Film winners even contended at the Oscars and both won there: The Lives of Others" (2007 in N.Y. and 2006 at Oscars) and "A Separation" (2011 at both).

The 10 NYFCC champs that were snubbed by the Oscars were: "Yi Yi" (2000), "In the Mood for Love" (2001), "And Your Mother Too" (2002), "City of God" (2003), "Bad Education" (2004), "2046" (2005),  "Army of Shadows" (2006), "4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days" (2008), "Summer Hours" (2009) and "Carlos" (2010).
