"Channel Orange" is the critically acclaimed debut album by Frank Ocean, who has six nominations total. This would be the first R&B/hip-hop album to win this category since OutKast's "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below" in 2004.

"Babel" is the sophomore album of Mumford & Sons and their first nomination in this category. They have six nominations this year and no previous Grammy wins.

"El Camino" is the seventh album by the Black Keys, who have five total nominations this year. They have two previous Grammy wins, but this is their first nomination in this category.

"Blunderbuss" is the first solo studio album by Jack White, who has 10 previous Grammy wins. He was previously nominated in this category as a member of the White Stripes.

"Some Nights" is the second album by Fun. but their first recognized by the Grammys. They have six nominations this year and are the only artists nominated in all general field categories: Record, Song, Album, and New Artist.
