To my knowledge, Ilene Kristen hasn’t been on since last summer to back up Denise/Ava’s bogus story.

I didn’t hink Ilene Kristen had been on GH this year but I missed a few episodes and she was listed as having been on the show in 2016 on the cast list. I am taking her name off the list…

What a comprehensive list, Freeman! Thank you. I have two basic comments, which is either suggesting an actor had too much airtime to justifiably compete in this category or questioning whether they actually appeared on the show in 2016, as noted below. (BTW, I love getting these discussions going!)

The Bold and the Beautiful (I missed all of January here, so it’s possible people were on this year even if I’m questioning it)
Crystal Chappell – appeared in 2016?
Othello Clark (Othello) – appeared in 2016?
Zack Conroy (Oliver) – appeared in 2016?
Jennifer Gareis (Donna) – appeared in 2016?
Kristina Lloyd (Dayzee) – appeared in 2016?
Fred Willard (John) – appeared in 2016?

    Days Of Our Lives
Peggy McCay (Caroline) – too much screentime, supporting instead?
Brandon Beemer – too much screentime, supporting instead?
Wally Kurth (Justin) – too much screentime, supporting instead?
Paige Searcy (Jade) – too much screentime, younger instead?
Aloma Wright (Maxine) – appeared in 2016?
Molly Burnett – appeared in 2016?

General Hospital (all four of these guys seem a little questionable to me in terms of being limited vs. supporting, but I think especially JVP because he had a decent amount of time as Carlos and then came back as a second character)
    Kathleen Gati (Olbrecht)
    Rick Hearst (Ric)
    Jeffrey Vincent Parise (Carlos)
    Jaclyn Zeman (Bobbie)

    The Young and the Restless
Robert Adamson (Noah) – too much screentime, supporting instead?
Sofia Pernas (Marissa) – too much screentime, supporting instead?

Molly Burnett should probably be on GH’s list for her stint as Maxie.

I’m striking Jennifer Gareis from my list of questionables, as it seems Donna will be back on B&B in October!

Since he showed up the other day, I’d like to add Spencer Neville for DAYS as Derrick.

I’ve made some changes and added Patrika Darbo (Nancy, Days)

Does Elizabeth Bogush (Dr. Anderson) belong in Guest/Limited or Supporting?

I have added Bree Williamson, since her role has (at least for now) ended on GH.

With the current rules for Guest Performer that have been utilized over the past 2 years, here are 5 likely nominees (can you think of others? My understanding of the criteria is limited roles that are brand new; I have included a replacement, not sure if that is allowed?)

    John DeLuca, GH
    Ashley Jones, GH
Nick Stabile, GH (replacement? eligible or not?)
    Chrishell Stause, Y&R
    Bree Williamson, GH

That’s a good question about whether or not replacements would be eligible. Because Tyler Christopher never came back, I guess it’s more accurate to call Nick Stabile a recast, not that it matters much. The Guest Actor rules for the Emmys two years ago stated that the character had to have debuted during the eligibility year, but that language was removed from the category description last year. I also don’t really know if an actor is ineligible if they’ve previously played a different role on the show, like Marie Wilson on DAYS who played Bree last year before coming on for a more significant turn as Summer this year.

Even with the restrictive rules, I think all four shows have some good options to choose from (people who come to mind for me are the young lady who played Shawn on Y&R and the actress who played Rafe and Gabi’s mother on DAYS, both of whom got some pretty good material for short-term characters), but I feel like the actual nominees will be pretty lackluster. Last year there were three good choices (the Avants from B&B and Dee Wallace from GH) and two underwhelming ones from DAYS and Y&R. Hopefully the Daytime Emmys will be releasing their rules for next awards sometime in the next few weeks and we can maybe get some clarity on the eligibility issue.

^^Or maybe the new rules are already out. I just saw the other thread with the changes for next year, but I was able to find that and the calendar online, but not a full rulebook.
