There is a good chance I will not be home when the nominations are announced this afternoon and I would appreciate it if someone would post the nominees here for when I get home.

My guess is that it will be a mix of great nominees and poor ones, just like always. Too many for Y&R and too few for Days, just like always.

I will be angry if Nancy Lee Grahn and John Aniston are snubbed ): I know others are rooting for Jess Walton but it would upset me; I would be fine with a Supporting Actress nomination – I wouldn’t agree with it but it would at least make sense, but not a Lead Actress nomination. There are some others who I do not want to see on the list of nominees. I am sure some of them will be! The suspense will be over soon!!!

I’m not home to watch the nominations on The Talk—so I will follow this thread. (Hope for good results.)

Interesting that no 2016 winners were nominated again except for Bryan Craig.

That is a murderers’ row of a Best Actress race, with 12 Emmys between the 5 nominees. And are all 4 remaining daytime dramas just going to keep on making the program category shortlist every year?

Wow, lead actress is a bloodbath. I’m so happy for NLG and I really want her to finally win lead but anyone of those ladies could justifiably win.

I can’t believe Jason Thompson wasn’t nominated, I thought he was finally gonna win.

18 of my dream ballot nominees made the list, including my two “must be nominated” actors. Thrilled for Billy Flynn!!!! John Aniston!!!! Nancy Lee Grahn in Lead Actress!!! Kate Mansi!!!!

Very few I didn’t want to see nominated; Peter Bergman and Vincent Irizarry; Gina Tognoni, Heather Tom and Jess Walton; Jeffrey Vincent Parise; Anthony Turpel – not bad!!!! NO Maurice Benard!!!!

Any word on Guest Performer nominees? Writing and Directing??

I started watching the Daytime Emmys in 1985.

For many years, Days of Our Lives was shut out of lead-acting nominations. Stephen Nichols (Patch) was nominated in 1988. Then the show didn’t get a slot until Eileen Davidson (Kristen) in 1998. After that, it was with Thaao Penghlis (Tony/Andre) in 2008.

Since 2008, Days of Our Lives has received at least one lead-acting nomination. So, with 2017, it is now ten consecutive years.

    • 2008: Thaao Penghlis (Tony/Andre)
    • 2009: Peter Reckell (Bo)
    • 2010: James Scott (EJ)
    • 2011: James Scott (EJ)
    • 2012: Crystal Chappell (Carly)
    • 2013: Peggy McKay (Caroline)
    • 2014: Eileen Davison (Kristen, won) and Arianne Zucker (Nicole)
    • 2015: Peggy McKay (Caroline) and Alison Sweeney (Sami)
    • 2016: Kassie DePaiva (Eve) and Mary Beth Evans (Kayla, won)
    • 2017: Billy Flynn (Chad) and Vincent Irizarry (Deimos)—category pending

The soap with the longest streak in years of lead-acting nominations is All My Children. Just in lead actress alone, from 1976 to 2002, AMC received a nomination slot in this category in each year during that period.

22 nominations is a new all-time record for DAYS OF OUR LIVES. The show’s previous record for nominations was 17.

DAYS also set a record for most male actors nominated in a single year. The show has 6 male actors nominated for Emmy’s this year. The previous record was 4.
