    – Alderson ends her losing streak, winning her first Goldie Award in six nominations. She was previously nominated in 2003, 2006, 2008, and 2010, and received a bid for Younger Actress of the Decade (2000-2009).

    – Alderson is the third young woman to win this award for OLTL. Previously, Melissa Fumero (2008) and Kelley Missal (2010) won this prize.

    – This is Canary’s second win and fifth nomination. He previously won Best Lead Actor for AMC in 2009. The same year, he was also honored with Goldie’s Lifetime Achievement Award. His other Lead Actor bids were in 2007 and 2008, and he was also nominated for a Goldie Decade Award for his lead performance.

    – This is the first win for AMC in this category.
