What was so special about Maura West that makes you believe that she deserved more than the three Emmys she already has? I find her to be very overrated, especially her run on GH and way more than Heather Tom. I also don’t remember her being that great on ATWT up until around 2004 and forward.

I love and adore Maura West (: I would have voted for her four more times – for a total of six – for her work as Carly Tenney Snyder on ATWT. Best Actress for 2003, ’06, ’07, and ’09; additonally, i would have nominated her 9 more times – 8 for ATWT, and once more for GH. She placed 2nd twice for me: 2008, to Debbi Morgan of AMC; and 2014, to Alison Sweeney of Days.

My other all-time favorite daytime actresses are Robin Strasser (AW, AMC, OLTL and Passions); and Kathryn Hays (ATWT).

    Different taste, that’s all (:

I am most upset that Bree Williamson didn’t win any of the three times she was nominated; and that she didn’t receive a nomination for 2011 as well. I wonder what she’s up to now?

Susan Haskell was great, but I preferred Maureen Garrett’s Holly, who had great scenes throughout that year with Michael Zaslow’s Roger. She was so vivid and alive in all of her scenes. She was nominated 3 times and I wish she had won at least once. (Also: she ought to have been nominated in 1979-80 for the rape storyline and the “death” of Roger Thorpe).

    My Picks:
    1979: Suzanne Rogers, DOOL

    1988: Arlene Sorkin, DOOL
    1989: Same- Grahn and Morgan
    1990: Lynn Herring, GH
    1991: Jill Larson, AMC

    1995: Jacklyn Zeman, GH
    1996: Victoria Rowell, Y&R
    1997: Eva La Rue, AMC
    1998: Amy Ecklund, GL

    2010: Carolyn Hennesy, GH
    2011: Bree Williamson, OLTL
    2012: Elizabeth Hendrickson, Y&R
    2013: Melissa Claire Egan, Y&R
    2014: Jane Elliot, GH
    2015: Finola Hughes, GH

A few changes here and there, a lot more wins for OLTL in general. in 1994 while Haskell would still win, she would tie with GH’s Sharon Wyatt.  My big surprise here is that I ended up taking away all of Julia Barr’s wins despite the fact she is one of my favorite actresses and my favorite AMC character is Brooke.  It just ended up that other people seemed more worthy in comparison.

I definitely agree with the idea that Jacklyn Zeman should have won for the Bobbie’s adultery/BJ dies storyline. She and Brad Maule were absolute powerhouse for that!

Yes, my biggest Emmy gripe is Jacklyn Zeman not winning Emmy’s for these storylines.   I would go as far as to say she likely should have won for Tony’s affair with Carly as well.   But Eva La Rue was so good in that year as well it was hard to pick.

1994 was a tough year for me, so much so I have it as a tie between Haskell and Wyatt, who was extremely popular and acclaimed in 1993-1994.
