Jennifer Finnigan for her 2002 work was among the best wins in this category. That girl was amazing.

Great starts for Melissa Leo, Anne Heche, JULIANNE MOORE, Jane Krakowski and Sarah Michelle Gellar. All fantastic actresses!

I would have preferred Rebecca Herbst in 1998 for the storyline of Elizabeth’s rape (before this character was insanely ruined by a series of poor writing decisions in the last 15 years) but I don’t know if she had a serious knockout tape to help her win.

Jennifer Landon’s 3rd win in 2007 should have gone to Rachel melvin!!!!

I believe it was her telling Audrey that she was raped vs. Heather Tom’s tape where she grieves over the lost of her child.

^ Yeah that’s a close one. I’d personally have given it to Herbst on the tiebreaker that she’d been aces all year but both I can see. I’d definitely put both over Brown that year.

I believe Jacqueline MacInnes Wood should of won both times she was nominated (2011 andd 2012)

Since, I believe Christel Khalil completely overreacted in her reel when Lily saw that Cane was alive, could not believe it so she entered in a mental hospital. I do applaud her for the choice of reel, since it was different, it was not common one like a break up, or a death.  Which is why I think the voters chose her. JMW beautifully performed in her reel when she was informed that Bill was going to stay Katie; even though she was ´´the other woman´´, I felt sympathy for her.

Second, I will forever be mad and upset that Kristen Alderson won for a 3 minute reel.  It barely told a story, the scenery was so dark, that you could not see her emotions very well. Well Jacqueline MacInnes Wood reel, had a range of emotions and was the simply the strongest IMO.

Therefore IMO, JMW should have two Emmys in her mental.  Hopefully, she can get one soon, she deserves it!

I agree that JMW would have been the better choice in 2012.  I didn’t hate Kristen Alderson’s reel, but I think JMW’s was stronger (if I’m remembering the years correctly).  But 2011 was a strange year when I didn’t really love any of the reels.  I did think Shelley Hennig’s was best, but it was really one note.  JMW’s reel was very cheesy, distractingly so.

robbalto, just curious if you saw Anne Heche’s performances during her four years on Another World? I think she ought to have won four years in a row – amazing acting performances!!!!! (:

I never did get to see Jane Krakowski on Search For Tomorrow. Bach then, there were so many soaps that I couldn’t watch all of them. I can now, with only four soaps, but the quality of the work is way way way less than back then. JK doesn’t seem to appear in any of the YouTube episodes of SFT that I have been able to find ): JK is the only one on your list who’s work I never did get to see ):

My least favorite win in this category was Christel Khalil’s for 2011 ): All 3 of the other nominees were a gazillion times better than her….

I am familiar with Anne Heche and I think she was very good. I did not watch AW on a regular basis, so I am not presenting my selections as objective. If you feel that strongly, you are probably right! Smile

I also believe that Sarah Brown had a real knock-out tape as well. I think it was basically considered a race between Tom and Brown at the time and Herbst wasn’t even considered a contender.

Which stinks because imo for the year Herbst gave the more solid performance but it wasn’t easy to distill into one episode. I was a huge Liz and Lucky fan before JJ left and they elected to ruin the characters.

That’s what I recall as well, and SJB was the favorite. That was for the year Carly told Bobbie she was her daughter and being denied release from Shady Brook because she faked insanity. The first tape coincided with Liz’s rape which happened to be in the same month and one week apart. I don’t remember when she told Audrey however. But given the whole similar camera effects and quality storytelling for GH at the time I really believe RH took away from SJB that year partly allowing HT to win coupled with the fact SJB won the last two years.

Sorry for chiming in. I guesss because I was watching soaps for three months I tend to be be coming here a little more often than I used to.
