Insiders are unofficially confirming that former Emmy nominee Christie Clark (Carrie Brady) who was fired along with Matthew Ashford (Jack), Patrick Muldoon (Austin) and Sarah Brown (Madison) last month, has already been rehired by DAYS and will be off-screen for approximately 2 months.
No official confirmation from DAYS/NBC or from SOD at the moment.
In other DAYS casting news, SOD confirms that former Emmy nominee Blake Berris (Ex-Nick) is returning to DAYS and is already back on set taping.
I hope this is true too. DAYS is my background soap when I get home from work (it’s on right before GH–which gets my undivided attention) but even as a background soap I could tell how good Christie Clark was. She’s always present and in the moment. And she is certainly one of the better actos in only a handful on this set. I even find myself watching her scenes when she’s on. Hope DAYS learned their lesson. This reminds me of what we went through last year with Herbst and GH…
This situtation IS very similar to Herbst/GH….there was a MASSIVE fan outcry over her firing, including several NBC twitter bombs/floods and tons of calls to their comment lines & snail mail begging the show to bring her back.
Looks like fan intervention might have saved Clark’s job.
Please please PLEASE let this be true!!!!! OMGoodness. I’m shaking a little right now. I did send a bunch of letters, tweets, and feedback messages on her behalf, so here’s hoping they are paying off. It’s nice to think that the shows care enough about us to change their minds on things like this, and Christie Clark really should be on the show, from an acting and a character standpoint.
I was hoping that the vet was Ashford, since he’s an Emmy nominee this year. But then again, I don’t watch DAYS.
*Sigh* It looks like Christie Clark will not be coming back to the show in the near future after all. She tweeted earlier today that a return is not happening now, and she’s cleaning out her dressing room today. I was so angry I went on a mini Twitter rant, not that the show seems to care. Very frustrating.
