According to DC, Greg Vaughan will be exiting his role as Eric on DOOL, and Matthew Ashford will be making a brief series of appearances as Jack. The latter will be a nice touch, but I’m sad to see GV go. He hasn’t been given much to do in a while so I do understand, but he has grown so much as an actor since joining Days. I would love to see him back on GH, either as Lucky again, or even as a way to refresh the character of Patrick.
I’m not surprised, the show seems hell-bent on getting rid of everyone and everything from the past five years ): There was so much more they could have done after the rape story, esp. have him work through issues brought about by male rape. He deserved an Emmy for his amazing work in 2013> I also wonder how this and other things will affect Ari Zucker? Where does Nicole go from here?
My guessa bout Jack is that Abigail will be hovering on the brink of death and Jack will be on teh “other side” helping her to have the will to live…
I was kind of bummed about this news. I think it’ll be nice to see Matthew Ashford’s Jack for a few episodes (my issue with Jack has always been more about him and Jennifer as a pair and how dull they become), but I’ll miss Eric a lot. I know the show hasn’t given him much to do lately, but he has had tons of potential, and still does. He’s not an essential character, but he’s someone I always enjoy seeing.
It would be interesting to see GV return to the role of Lucky. His Lucky and Jonathan Jackson’s seem like two different characters, and I wonder how GH would feel about closing the door on JJ by having GV back. He could certainly play a new character. I was wondering if JFP would try to scoop him up at Y&R, and then I remembered that he’s already been on that show too, as Diego Gutierrez. I don’t know what ever happened to that character, but he could easily play someone else there. I wonder if they’d consider him as an Adam recast if Justin Hartley’s pilot gets picked up. I can also see him making a better Billy than Jason Thompson, would I think would make a better Adam.
