With a fresh new crop of talk shows already premiered, I thought I would start a thread covering & predicting the nominations for Outstanding Talk Show (Informative), Outstanding Talk Show (Entertainment), and Outstanding Talk Show Host(s).

Once again, here are the shows/people eligible:

    Outstanding Talk Show – Informative:
    Dr. Phil
    The Dr. Oz Show
    The Doctors
    Katie

    Outstanding Talk Show – Entertainment
    Betheny!
    The Ellen DeGeneres Show
    Live! with Kelly and Michael
    The Queen Latifah Show
    Rachel Ray
    Steve Harvey
    The Talk
    The View
    The Wendy Williams Show

I think Queen Latifah is probably the only one of this years new talk shows that will emerge as having even the slightest chance at a nomination.

The ladies of The Talk had some great episodes last week that could win them either Show or Host.  Aisha Tyler broke down talking about the difficulty she had getting pregnant.  Sara Gilbert as well talking about how being gay may have affected her career.  It was very riveting tv.

I really still can’t believe Bethenny even has a talk show.

I absolutely agree. That sure was one hell of a premiere week for The Talk. I think the whole idea of having all the ladies share with the audience one well-kept secret was brilliant and made for great discussion. And I feel like if they were to submit any of the shows from that week (w/perhaps the exception of Monday’s Sharon Osbourne confession which was a bit more light-hearted and not as emotionally-heavy as that of all the other ladies’) they could very likely steal that Emmy for Best Entertainment Talk Show Host from The View (as I expect they’ll be getting a lot of love come Emmy time considering it is Barbara Walter’s last season as host on the show).

I’m not sure. The Talk ladies have yet to be nominated for Best Talk Show Host. And I agree that this year’s new group of talk shows are really dissapointing. Betheny is a terrible host. I tuned into Queen Latifah last week, and she was fun, but there is still a lot of work to be done.

Right now, I’m predicting the nominees will be:

Dr. Oz – The Dr. Oz Show
Whoopi Goldberg, Jenny McCarthy, Sherri Shepherd, Barbara Walters – The View
    Steve Harvey – Steve Harvey
Queen Latifah – The Queen Latifah Show
Kelly Rippa and Michael Strahan – Live! with Kelly and Michael

I’ve been really loving the addition of Carnie Wilson to the hot topics panel on The Talk. She’s been doing a fantastic job standing in as host for Sharon Osbourne on her days off. If the show were, for whichever reason, to ever be in need of a replacement for any of the ladies at some point in the future, they should seriously consider signing her on as a regular host. I feel Wilson, like Sara Gilbert, always brings something deep and heartfelt to all the discussions. She’s a keeper.
