    I didn’t see a new
submission thread made for this year yet, so I figured I would create one,
since there were some submissions from this week that I wanted to make sure
    didn’t get missed.

    Bold and the Beautiful

     January
    5, 6, and 7

    Outstanding Supporting
    Actress – Linsey Godfrey

Outstanding Supporting Actor – Jacob Young

    The Bold and the
Beautiful has been consistently great these last couple of weeks thanks to this
storyline.  I thought all three of these
episodes were great for these 2, as Caroline confronted Rick following his
reveal that he and Maya were still together.  I would say the Janary 5
episode is probably Linsey’s strongest performance to date!  I also wanted to give an honorable mention to
Karla Mosley.  She has been great
throughout all of this too, but I can’t single out any one performance that
would be a good enough submission from her.

I have to agree that Linsey Godfrey has been killing it! And I am glad Jacob Young finally has some good material.

    General Hospital

    Outstanding Drama Series
    Outstanding Direction
    Outstanding Writing
    Outstanding Younger Actor (Nicholas Bechtel)

Hear me out: this epi is self-contained; suspenseful; well acted, written, directed and produced; has humor; is very entertaining – yes, I found the ending irritating, but I don’t think judges of Emmy reels would feel the same way I do (Nicholas burning the ballots bugged me).

I loved the flashbacks and the way we kept learning new things about “the Case of the Missing Ballot Box”! The reactions by various characters was really good too.

The standout performer imo was Nicholas Bechtel as “Prince” Spencer Cassadine – he is so charming, effortless, and entertaining – a truly outstanding child actor.

My only quibble: Lucy has been too shrill lately and I find it really annoying!

The whole episode was just to make up for dropping the whole storyline.  I call it lazy writing.  Obviously, judges may not realize this if they do not watch the show on a daily basis.

    Days
    of our Lives

    Outstanding Supporting Actor:  Christopher Sean

    Paul
comes out to his mother and grandfather.

I think that Christopher Sean has been a real find for
this show.  I have been impressed by him
from the beginning and I am enjoying his storyline.  I thought he did a really great job
expressing his emotions in the coming out scenes.  He has a very expressive face and did a great
job at showing everything he was going through.
I am sure there will be more from him when the truth about him and Will
comes out, but this would make a competitive reel for next year’s Emmys.

Agreed. Christopher Sean did terrific work today. How old is this actor?

Christopher Sean has been really good, which surprised me.  When he first started, I thought he’d only be good in flirty mode, but he’s definitely proven me wrong.  Very nice work from him yesterday, and also I thought Freddie Smith was very good, between Derek telling him about Will and Paul and then arguing with Victor in the square.  It could be a good reel for him also, though I would guess that a confrontation with Will and/or Paul would possibly be stronger.

Best Actress: Sharon Case, The Young and the Restless

Sharon loses custody of Faith to Nick and has a tearful and loving conversation with a distraught Faith (she was wonderful too). Very touching scene. (:

    Days Of Our Lives

    Best Supporting Actress: Judi Evans
    Best Supporting Actress: Suzanne Rogers
    Best Supporting Actor: John Aniston
    Best Direction

A real tearjerker of an episode as various characters discover that Sonny has been stabbed. Adrienne (Judi Evans) made me cry with her heartfelt emotions over Sonny’s plight. Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) is the heroine, saving Sonny’s life, and Victor (John Aniston) is incredible in his scenes of grief and concern. The episode was also superbly directed. A really great “sweeps” episode!

This could be a very strong reel for Judi Evans, with the shift from her awkward moment with Lucas to the grief of Sonny’s stabbing.

    Days of our Lives
    Outstanding Supporting Actor
    Freddie Smith (Sonny Kiriakis)
    Daniel Cosgrove (Aiden Jennings)

Sonny remembers that Will cheated on him with Paul as Paul is asking Sonny for another chance.  Sonny lashes out at Paul for sleeping with his husband.  Will returns Sonny’s stolen wedding ring to him.  Aiden tells Hope how he covered up his son’s accidentally killing Meredith and pleads with her not to tell anyone the truth.

I thought Freddie Smith’s performance in this episode was pitch perfect.  It was probably way too understated to really be competitive, but it might be my favorite perforomance of the year so far.  You could just feel how devastated he was, and there was a great undercurrent of sorrow throughout the episode that seemed to be threatening to break through but is kept under control.  Daniel Cosgrove I thought found a balance here that was missing in the previous episode, when he went a little over the top, and did a good job playing up the fact that Aiden isn’t just upset about the tragedy of what’s happened but also desperate to convince Hope not to reveal the truth.

    Days Of Our Lives
Best Supporting Actor: Christopher Sean (Paul)
Best Supporting Actor: Freddie Smith (Sonny)
Best Supporting Actress: Judi Evans (Adrienne)

Everyone was superb on today’s episode, but I loved Paul’s talk with Marlena (Paul sure puts his foot in his mouth with others lately; he’s always unaware of things, like: Marlena is Will’s grandmother!). When he talked about his mom in particular and his love for Sonny – great! Freddie Smith has been hitting all of the right notes: tears, anger, grief, betrayal. Superb! And Judi Evans continues to deliver as Adrienne discovers that Justin has a woman named Elsa in is life. Nice kiss in the park between Adrienne and Lucas!

Looking forward to tomorrow, as Sonny is poised to really confront Will!

^^^Yes yes yes!  These guys were great.  Smith has been Emmy-worthy, Sean has certainly proven a strong addition to the cast, and Evans proves again why she should be getting more use than just being the town busybody.  Special mention to Deidre Hall, who really was just a sounding board but had my favorite moment of the episode with her reaction to Paul saying he slept with Will.

    Days Of Our Lives
Best Supporting Actor: Freddie Smith (Sonny)
Best Supporting Actress: Judi Evans (Adrienne)

    I
could add Christopher Sean, Deidre Hall, and Guy Wilson – actually,
everyone delivered terrific performances again today.

    Freddie
Smith has been exceptional this week.  His style is generally so
natural and easygoing that I wasn’t sure what to expect from the more
emotional scenes, but he did an excellent job expressing everything
without seeming at all out of character or like he was trying too hard.

And thanks to whoever stickied the thread!  I looked for it for about five minutes before realizing it was at the top of the page.
