According to the forums at soap central and debbi herself on twitter she has been let go and will finish taping in October. If its true too bad she was good on Y&R and thought she was a frontrunner for emmy next year. Link to follow.September 13, 2012 at 9:02 pm #423217
Jill Foster Abbott is in DA HAUS!September 13, 2012 at 9:06 pm #423218
I hate to say, but a “Tyler Perry Presents . . . ” movie would’ve been X10 better than the step and fetch she was doing on this show. And her wigs would’ve been top dollar too.September 13, 2012 at 9:36 pm #423219
I love Debbi and sad she turned down the new Denzel Washington movie to do Y&R. What a bust this role was. This is what happens when you cast the actor first and then rush to figure out the story. A total mess.
But JFP really doesn’t like older actresses does she?? First Genie (although her character was near universally despised) and still looks like Walton at best may come back for guest appearances like Beth Maitland’s Traci. Who’s next? Tracey E. Bregman? I know she’s on recurring, but she may just be dropped all together. Even Stafford now is pushing 50! JFP can do some good but boy does she not like women over a certain age. MTS will probably be backburned and who knows with Cooper.
And trust me Steve Burton is on his way to Genoa City!!September 13, 2012 at 9:40 pm #423220
Hold the prepaid phone! Debbi TURNED DOWN a Denzel movie for this part!? Jesus Christ! I can’t. I CAN’T!!!!!September 13, 2012 at 9:48 pm #423221

I think you hit the nail on the head. I kept waiting for her role to develop, but the writers just wouldnt go there. She could have been such an intriguing character.
May she go on to better things.September 14, 2012 at 8:16 am #423223
Yeah, until she cuts somebody I actually care about having on this show, I’m not complaining about Jill Foster Abbott’s decisions so far. With Morgan’s ouster, added to Genie Francis and the well-shy-of-50 Marcy Rylan, she’s cut three actresses whose castings I was against from day one. And what little I did bring myself to watch of Harmony was awful.
And, yeah, wait, Morgan really turned down a Denzel Washington movie to be on Y&R? That seems insane, though the idea of her maybe having some loyalty to daytime is very sweet. I certainly wish her all the best. Maybe DAYS will hire her, as they are currently deficient of black women and, not that I have anything against an interracial romance, I think she’d potentially pair much much better with Abe than Kayla would.September 14, 2012 at 10:00 am #423224
Supposedly, she may have turned down “Flight” that’s coming out this fall then Tamara Tunie, Jessica on ATWT, got the role. But I’m not sure if that’s the film.
I’ll never forget that rag they made her wear for the first couple months. So badSeptember 14, 2012 at 7:14 pm #423225
People..she turn down an AUDITION to play the wife in a Denzel Washington movie..which to me sounds one note with limited screen apperances. so its not like she had the role in the 1st place. I can now seeing her being cast in some new Tyler Perry movie, or one of these black sitcoms on cable…( she deserves better, but roles for black woman in their 50’s are slim to none)September 14, 2012 at 7:23 pm #423226
F.Y.I Garcelle Beauvais will play Denzel’s wife in “flight”
