GH is set to air two LIVE episodes on Friday, May 15 and Monday, May 18 straight from the L.A. studios.

Very akin to One Life to Live‘s hugely popular Live week during May Sweeps in 2002.

Can’t wait to hear some of the storyline and cast details for this. Should be a lot of fun and very interesting!!

On the topic, Lisa LoCicero (Emmy-nominee, “Olivia”) says:

“Can you imagine if my water breaks on live TV? That’d be the greatest show ever!”

Is that when the Nurse’s Ball is slated?

Ha!  That’s pretty exciting.  I love when shows take a chance on doing episodes live, and soaps are probably better suited to it than most shows because they generally do everything in one take anyway.

Forgive my ignorance – I live on the east coast, is it “live” at 2 p.m. EST? Isn’t the show on at 3 p.m. in some time zones? This ought to be interesting! (: I would LOVE it if Lisa’s water broke “live”!!!! ha ha ha

    This ought to be fun!

Supposedly, the cast will be staging a live show for EACH coast on the two days.

Nurses Ball, I believe, is slated for the first week of May…

There are currently no storyline details for these two live episodes.

Just because I have a spectacular sense of schaudenfraude, who else hopes that one scene is like the live episode of “The Sun Also Sets” from Soap Dish and someone’s brain may blow from “brain fever”?

My heart had blackened towards GH for a while, but I’m excited by all the great publicity lately!  The last few weeks have been noticeably better in some regard, they followed up a strong showing of Emmy nominations with a great Anniversary show, and now this bold move!  Good for them!

For sure. The story progression has been lackluster the past couple weeks, but the publicity has been very very positive. PEOPLE Mag. has already done 2 articles in the past 2 days on it! Lol. And these live episodes should bring a lot more publicity towards the show in the coming weeks. Daytime, in general, needs to take big risks like these in order to get big publicity in return.

Yes, the huge nomination pick up at the Emmys was a big bonus for GH too.

Yeah, I feel like the last thing daytime needs is for its leader in Emmy nominations to be lifeless and lackluster, and as much as I’m not loving the show in general, I’m really happy that the anniversary episode yesterday was so great, followed by this live episode announcement and a lot of good buzz.
