The last of the acting categories – here’s hoping we get Writing, Directing and Series as well! (:

I loved 3 of the reels and any of those three winning would be fine by me. 2 of the reels are awful and it’s unforgivable that they are even nominated (jmho). Here goes:

    1. Anna Maria Horsford (Vivienne, B&B) (12:30) August 11

Maya’s wedding is interrupted by a belligerent Julius (her father) and a confrontation ensues; NOTE: AMH’s reel is almost the exact same as Obba B’s, but is almost 2 minutes longer. If you wish to save time, watch his first, and then watch the last 2 minutes of hers! I will tell you why I place her in first place: her reel made me smile, tear up, and made me happy! “So proud to be your mother!” – heartwarming!

btw, how dare they not nominate Karla Mosley? Was this her submission? She was AMAZING in this episode! Even if she had submitted the transgender reveal, she deserved to be competing for Best Actress of 2015! Superb!

    2. Obba Babbatunde (Julius, B&B) (10:40) August 11

Same reel as AMH, just almost 2 minutes shorter (Julius leaves, and Vivienne ends the scene with Maya). His performance is tough, raw, the acting is superb, but… he’s not at all likable, he’s such a jerk – but it’s an ACTING award, and he deserves to win but so do AMH and DW. I still think he belongs in the Supporting Actor category, and isn’t really a “Guest Performer” (and he could have won in that category as well)…

    3. Dee Wallace (Patricia, GH) (15:30) April 2

The episode after the anniversary episode, Patricia explains why she did what she did to protect Luke. This reel is marred imo by having too much screen time for Luke (btw, my dislike of Luke, my feeling glad that he is gone from the show – marred these scenes for me). I loved DW’s performance, but it is fairly one note. Still, I would be happy if she were to win.

    4. Adam Leadbetter (Dr. Malcolm, Days) (8:10) December 8

Hope tortures Dr. Malcolm about what happened to Bo. I hated these scenes when they aired and I hated them now. Just hated this reel! he acts o.k., i guess, but I couldn’t wait for it to be over! Yuck! (it is my understanding that Joey Luthman and Chloe Lanier did not submit for their work on April 1 episode of GH – they both would have been so thoroughly deserving!)

    5. Frank Runyeon (Angel, Y&R) (5:50) May 28

Back in the 1980’s, I enjoyed this actor as Steve Andropoulous on ATWT (opposite Meg Ryan and then Lindsay Frost). But why was he nominated for this one-note incredibly dull “performance”? I would love to know who else submitted that did not get nominated….

So… I am predicting Obba Babatunde for the Emmy win on April 29 (I am assuming Guest Performer will be awarded at the Creative Arts Emmys).

I will watch and rank soon.

Can’t imagine Obba not winning. His performance was amazing from what I remember. I can totally see him up for Supporting Actor next year, and winning.

Yeah, 3 of the reels are great for the most part. One is OK/underwhelming. And the last one…I’m guessing he only got in b/c of name recognition or something. Anyway. here’s my ranking…

    1. Avant parents – Look, I’m hopin’ there’s a tie and both Obba Babatunde and Anna Maria Horsford get a trophy. That scene they submitted is so good. I’m with Freeman, the only thing I resent about the reel is that it wasn’t enough to get Karla Mosely a nomination. Anyway, these 2 are tops.
    3. Dee Wallace
    4.  Adam Leadbeater – I was mostly impressed with how well shot Days is.
    5. Frank Runyeon – Apparently, he’s a soap veteran. He hadn’t appeared on screen in 6 years. He’s never won an Emmy before. He could win based off that, but it won’t be deserving.

I think there’ll be another tie in this category. Undecided Dee Wallace and Obba Babatunde seemed to be in the best position to win.

I read in SOD there is a procedure to keep ties from happening but it may only apply in Series due to the controversy last year. Either way I don’t know how you split the two B & B nominees. Sure one has two more minutes but was it really enough? Wallace is fine but I don’t think better than the B & B duo. The remaining two I could leave.
