I never watch that show but boy did I ever enjoy seeing all of the All My Children actors: Susan Lucci, Peter Bergman (now on Y&R), Taylor Miller, John Callahan, Eva La Rue, Michael E Knight, Eden Riegel, Jill Larson, Kim Delaney, who else? Disappointed that Julia Barr wasn’t there. The clips were wonderful and esp.: the in memoriam sequence, in which I was in tears. I believe it is repeated tomorrow at 12 noon? Lots of foolishness in the segments, but get past it and the cast of AMC was so special.February 2, 2017 at 4:21 pm #1202001820
That sounds fun. What channel is this? I will record it.February 2, 2017 at 4:23 pm #1202001823
Hallmark Family channel. Check to make sure they are repeating it; i think I am correct but I may not be. Looks like they show a new episode at 10 a.m. and then the previous day’s episode at 12 noon? I apologize if that is incorrect information…February 2, 2017 at 4:43 pm #1202001837
You are correct. I will record it!February 5, 2017 at 3:26 pm #1202003721
I watched the episode and enjoyed it! That segment at the end… wow! Very moving.February 6, 2017 at 9:11 am #1202004160
I just read that, after this reunion, there were rumors of a revival on Netflix, which is an interesting thought (and again makes me wonder why, if this is a possibility, none of the soaps are currently a part of a streaming deal that will help offset their production costs). It’s an intriguing idea for sure.February 6, 2017 at 4:12 pm #1202004429
I hope the revival on Netflix works out.
Personally, I am not that excited about the prospect of Netflix for the same reason I did not get excited over Prospect Park. The daytime serial is a very specific type of show. It’s a continuing drama that airs daily, year-round. You can follow characters and families for years, even decades.
Airing a show online, with a limited number of episodes, fundamentally removes all that is unique about the daytime serial. The show becomes no different than, for example, a nighttime drama.
So while I support any attempt to continue or revive AMC, I personally am most invested in the continued airing of daytime serials on broadcast networks.February 11, 2017 at 9:03 pm #1202008444
I would be more excited if GH just added some of the AMC legacy characters to its cast as they have done in the past with OLTL characters.
I think the most direct and obvious way of doing this would be to revive the Skye Chandler Quartermaine character and have her return to PC, possibly married to another AMC character, and perhaps constantly referring to AMC characters.
I also think that Ryan Lavery would be a natural fit on GH. Certainly Cameron Mathison is willing to take any job he is offered, and we know he has chemistry with Rebecca Budig. I also think he would have potential chemistry with Laura Wright and Rebecca Herbst as well.
and now this is just me fan-boying here, but who could resist the idea of Erica Kane in Port Charles? Perhaps Erica seeking a new start in life moves to PC and buys majority stake in a piece of land that the mob had control over for years; instantly putting her both at odds with Sonny, but also directly in the path of a mob war? or perhaps she buys out a majority stake in CoeCoe cosmetics, putting her at odds with Lucy?
I can totally see much potential for Erica Kane in Port Charles; perhaps a romance with Sonny before moving onto someone else like Julian Jerome. I could see Erica as a rival for Alexis or Tracey. I could see Erica disliking Laura and I could see tons of comic potential if Lucy and Erica were rivals and became friends.
I can imagine Erica Kane finding Elizabeth Webber to be insufferable and annoying. And I could see Erica and Carly butting heads.
