Thrilling news: Bree Williamson, 3 time Emmy nominee for her role of Jessica Buchanan on One Life To Live, is joining the cast of General Hospital in the role of Nathan’s ex-wife Claudette! (: I am so excited! (: She’s an all-time favorite and I hope GH utilizes her talents to their fullest! (:
I too am looking forward to seeing Bree. I am feeling nostalgic for the entertainment of OLTL.
But as Freeman said, “I hope GH utilizes her talents to their fullest!” Given their track record in this regard…
Hope springs eternal and where GH is concerned there is usually only hope! (; Still, always happy when one of my favorites comes on a show.
How about a guest stint for Robin Strasser on GH? (or any of the four shows!) how I would love to see her again! (: I miss OLTL so much!
Haha! It is cool getting Bree Williamson back on a soap, even if I’m not that excited about the role she’s playing. I haven’t been watching GH, but I’ll probably have to check out at least an episode or two with her and Molly Burnett.
I’m pretty shocked Bree decided to take soap work again, she seems to have been focusing on primetime work for a few years now. I would love to see this role finally win her an long overdue Emmy.
And I second the idea of Robin Strasser guesting on GH or any soap! I always thought she’d make a great Dimeria on DOOL. I could totally have seen her and Joseph Mascola battling for control of the Dimeria family and her scenes with Kristen would have been epic.
I also wish somebody would give Erika Slezak a juicy role too, I always thought she’s be a perfect fit at Y&R as a love interest for Victor.
I’m enjoying Bree so far. It’s a welcome relief from the mob. However, I do not see much long-term potential for this character. Why couldn’t they have brought her on as a doctor at GH? Why is it that the big name acquisitions on GH always play devious, scheming, superficial characters with no rooting value?
Maybe they were only able to get her short-term? Though I’ve thought that before with other characters who came on playing devious schemers with little-to-no rooting value, and both the examples I’m considering are still on the show, years later.
Why is it that the big name acquisitions on GH always play devious, scheming, superficial characters with no rooting value?
No rooting value? That didn’t stop Carly, Sam or Nina from staying on the show long-term. Not to mention Hayden, Connie/Kate, or to a lesser extent Elizabeth whose rooting value is debatable at best.
Boidiva, I do not care for Sam or Nina. Carly is an interesting character and adds spice to the canvas; she has rooting value at times. The same was true of Kate. As for Elizabeth, she should have rooting value but the character is poorly written. Rooting value may not be a big deal to everyone, but it is to me. GH has too many characters that lack rooting value.
