More reasons for me to really dislike Days: Judi Evans, my pick for Best Supporting Actress of 2015, along with Wally Kurth, have been dropped to recurring ): The Show films 6 months ahead so perhaps they will get some story, but they have basically cut almost everything I have loved about the show over the past five years, and fired or dropped my favorites. I’m very disappointed by this news ):December 2, 2015 at 10:24 am #429906
On the other hand now Wally can come back to GH. I didn’t like how abruptly things ended with Olivia and the more Q’s the better.December 2, 2015 at 10:50 am #429907
I don’t love this news either. What really concerns me here is that this really makes it feel like all of the plans the show supposedly had for writing for the veterans and returning to couples the fans have loved for decades is really starting to just feel like a smoke screen to cut out almost everything from the four years before the shift. I know that not all of the anniversary stuff was meant to last long term, but the more news we get as time passes, the more it feels like we’ll just be left with a different show that’s not even doing the things it said it would. Look at all of the new or SORASed characters that are currently hanging around, and there are more to come. That was one of the big complaints before, so now it almost seems like the show is purposely making the same mistakes, if you buy that they were mistakes the first time, and just doing a worse job of it. Very frustrating.
In specific reference to Judi Evans and Wally Kurth, both were doing okay with the show in a reucrring capacity before, so I’m not necessarily concerned yet about them being gone. But they’ve also written the Justin/Adrienne story lately in a way that just seems odd to me, and Adrienne’s genetic predisposition to breast cancer hasn’t come up in a while. Meanwhile, Eve won’t be around much longer, and Bryan Datillo is, I believe, also on recurring, so I’m not sure I see them getting a whole lot of screentime past April or May.December 2, 2015 at 1:45 pm #429908

Well considering they were on recurring status for the entire Tomlin stint at DAYS that you praise so much, I don’t see why this NOW should be “one more reason” for you to dislike DAYS…considering they have just been put back at the same status they were at for years.December 2, 2015 at 3:28 pm #429909
During 2015, the airtime for Evans, Datillo, and Kurth greatly increased. I loved their story and looked forward to their scenes. I was especially fond of the Lucas/Adrienne pairing. But during the course of the last month or so, the writers seem to have lost interest in writing for these characters. That is too bad, because all three actors are so good and their stories are character-driven. It doesn’t really matter whether their status is contract or recurring; these actors have been sidelined, and, for their fans, that is indeed something to dislike.December 3, 2015 at 9:35 am #429910
Wally Kurth has taken to Twitter to reassure fans that he is still in Salem and Justin is still the DA, so hopefully we will still see a good amount of both him and Judi Evans/Adrienne.
