I voted for “OLTL” because I seem to think about that soap most of all.

PS: I know I forgot to include soaps like “Santa Barbar”, “Edge of Night”, “Ryan’s Hope”, etc… but I could only have 10 options and that’s why Included “Other”.

I had to go with Another World.  Thirteen years later and my family is still quoting some of those lines.  And every time I see Adrienne on DAYS, it makes me miss Paulina.

It was between the two soaps (three, but B&B is still on the air) that made me a soap fan, LOVING & Passions. I think I remeber writing AddieLove in a PM about this, but my vacation back home to Ghana when I was ten, there was nothing on (cartoons), except for US soaps. Had a finiliarity w/B&B since I grew up in a CBS home and that is the sole soap my mom still watches. Feel for the OTT, prettiness, and stories of the genre.

My vote went to Passions, b/c even though I used to be the one championing the bashing against JER, he was on to something w/his formula and it proved right w/this viewer. Though my watching of that show was only on NBC and didn’t bother to follow the show to DirecTV.

I always thought I would miss AMC the most, but OLTL seems to be most on my mind, likely because of how terrible AMC got in it’s last 5-6 years.

This is tricky for me. In the short term, it’s certainly OLTL. That was the soap I most enjoyed watching for the last year and a half. Historically speaking, however, I would choose ATWT and GL. OLTL has a slight edge in that it continued to entertain into the 21st century and right up to its last episode, while ATWT and GL did not fare as well during their final years. But nothing beats ATWT and GL from the 80s and early 90s. I went with ATWT by a narrow margin. I just ordered the DVD of ATWT and GL classic episodes, so we will see which is most captivating. I miss the east coast soaps. If it had to come down to only four remaining, I wish it had been AMC, OLTL, ATWT, and GL.

    I remember that conversation east/west!

I voted for One Life To Live because from all the ones that are gone, it meant the most to me.  Like I remember telling east/west, OLTL, GH, AW, B&B, DAYS, and Y&R were the shows that got me into American soaps because they were the ones that were shown in Australia at the time (this was in early 90s).  My mother had just been killed and my father’s way of “grieving and moving on” was for us to basically remove everything that would remind us of her and never speak about what had happened.  After that, I was pretty much left alone to my own devices and become hooked on the American soaps because that’s what would be on in the afternoons.  That early to mid 90s era of OLTL brought a lot of comfort to my life, so I think I’ll definitely miss it the most of all the ones that are gone.
