We have a post for actors and actresses who have NEVER been nominated for a daytime Emmy – who are considered daytime television veterans. Sorry, I could only include 10 names – if you wish to do a write-in vote, feel free to do so. The preponderance of Days performers I think just means that Days has often been slighted over the years and underperformed. Please vote for one of the above in the poll.

I made an error and left off one name from my list of ten ): I couldn’t edit it and add the name (Joseph Mascolo – Stefano on Days). There were only ten spots so I had to leave off a few names, so if you wish to vote for a write-in choice, the only criteria for it being counted is that they have not been nominated for an Emmy in an acting category ever; that they be a veteran (more than 10 years on soaps); and that they are still on the show as of right now in 2015. (Some other names that were mentioned in the other thread include Kristina Wagner, Felicia on GH; John J. York, Mac on GH; Drake Hogestyn, John on Days; and I would add Alley Mills, Pam on B&B)…

My top two would be Kate Linder (Y&R’s Esther) and John Aniston (DOOL’s Victor). According to my notes, they are the only two actors who have been on a currently airing daytime soap for 30 years or more and have yet to rack up a single nomination. That’s simply shameful.

There’s a reason why most of these people have never been nominated.  They’re not that good.  And Kate Linder???  Really????  Show me something Emmy-worthy and we’ll talk.  I did, however, vote for John Aniston.  He’s a pretty decent actor.

I cast my vote for John Aniston – I believe he has done Emmy-caliber work this year and deserves consideration for the 2015 Emmys. I’ve loved the work he’s done with Sonny’s being stabbed by Clyde’s goons story in particular. He started on soaps in the 1970’s, on Love Of Life. (an aside: he was the original casting choice for the role of Ted Baxter on The Mary Tyler Moore Show!)

I voted for Sean Kanan. He has been doing great work for years on GH and B&B. That said, there are many other talented actors on the list. John Aniston is a great choice, too. I remember watching him on “Search for Tomorrow” back in the day.

Eleven votes were cast and John Aniston was the winner with 4 votes (36%) – in a close second was Lauren Koslow with 3 votes (27%) – 4 actors received one vote each: Lauralee Bell, Bryan Datillo, Mary Beth Evans and Sean Kanan…

I am hoping John Aniston gets an Emmy nomination for his work in 2015 (:
