I know that it’s probably not the greatest arguement for a person getting nominated but I feel that Judge Judy deserves a nomination and a win. It amazes me how popular and addicting her show is.

Why has Judge Judy never won an Emmy? And why was the show snubbed last year?

Has her team submitted lousy episodes? Is she too mean? Does she have a bad reputation?

The show received numberous nominations (I stopped counting at 12) so clearly the voters like the show.

I think part of the reason recently Judge Judy has never won, or wasn’t nominated last year, is because of the ridiculous voting system this Emmy show has.

You submit episodes along with your show to be considered for a nomination, at which point the voters vote for both the nominees AND the winners.

It should be just like the Primetime Emmy’s. You submit your name for consideration for a nomination, then if you are nominated, then you can submit an episode.

Why has no one changed this voting system yet?

Judge Judy is back in the category. Will she win? She certainly makes a lot of money.

It appears the Emmy voters take themselves very seriously and vote for Courtroom Shows whose cases are very “Serious” and whose judge is very compassionate and fair.  My guess is Judy is too in your face and blunt for the pansey voters.

Judge Judy is so entertaining! i love it! She better win! Even if she wins it won’t make up the fact that she lost like 12 times before……..

She needs to submit an episode that packs a lot of punch.

While I don’t like Last Shot with Judge Gunn, I LOVE The People’s Court and Judge Judy. While I would love for Judge Judy to finally win, I also wouldn’t mind if The People’s Court won as well.

When I judged the courtroom shows one year, Judge Judy submitted the best episode. IT was about a teenage girl who’d been stabbed. The episode had everything you look for in any kind of show. It was better than the drama submissions. Christina’s Court won for an episode I found incredibly boring and repetitive. I’m convinced tapes weren’t watched.

The sad thing is they probably did watch the tapes and still voted against Judy because she is too “shrill” or “unlikeable”.  Once voters deem you too obnoxious to vote for like Kathie Lee Gifford was with Regis or Dr. Phil they vote against you all the time even when you have the best tape.  There was one year Dr. Phil had the best tape and he lost to The Tyra Banks Show.

If you look at the nominations and winners voters seem to like boring and repetitive over personality.  Boring equals more serious in their minds.  You have Wendy Williams who does a fantastic job hosting full of life and personality and energy and she gets snubbed for such horrendously stale, weak, and lifeless hosting efforts of Ricki Lake, Steve Harvey, and Anderson Cooper.  Her show gets snubbed for the blantant View ripoff The Talk who has 5  co hosts and none of them do as good of a job as Williams solo.

I agree with you about Anderson Cooper and The Talk but completely disagree about Steve Harvey. If you would have asked me before, I would have said in no way would I ever enjoy anything with Steve Harvey in it but this show and Family Fued chaged that. Not a Wendy Williams fan but agree she should have gotten Anderson’s spot. and Katie Curic should have gotten Lake’s spot.

I agree. I find Steve Harvey’s talk show and Family Feud very entertaining. Before he hosted Family Feud, I found the show very boring. But he brings a sense of life to the show that it hasn’t had in decades. As for his talk show, without watching the tapes, I think he is currently the best talk show host on television right now next to Ellen DeGeneres. He brings such class and comedy to his show, kind of like Ellen does. His facial expresssions alone can make you roll on the floor laughing.

The only women I like on The Talk is Sheryl and Sharon. I don’t find Aisha funny, Sara is boring, and Julie Chen has got to be the most boring talk show host EVER!!! The way she moderates that show is shameful. Compared to Julie, Whoopi Goldberg looks like the best moderator of any talk show EVER!!

This episode was designed to answer those criticisms. If Judge Judy was ever going to win, this ep. would have been the one. It would have disarmed those who don’t like her. I am convinced they did not watch the tapes because Christina Court’s submission was so dull. Even if they chose not to like Judge Judy, the other submissions were superior.

I disagree on one point. The two times The Tyra Banks Show won they deserved the emmy. I judged both times, and TBS had the best submission. One year Dr. PHil submitted an episode where Dr. Phil had reached a certain number of episodes/years. It was basically celebrating Dr.. Phil with updates on previous guests. It was a poor submission. I don’t remember the other one.
