Just in time for fall, looks like Salem is getting a little ‘NutMeg.’  From SOD:

Marie Wilson (ex-Karen, PORT CHARLES; ex-Meg, AS THE WORLD TURNS) has been cast on DAYS as a new character, Bree, who will shake things up between Hope and Aiden. “She is from Aiden’s past and has an interesting history,” the actress tells Digest. “It’s a very exciting story.” Wilson will make her debut on October 31. For more from the actress, check out the new issue of Digest on sale Friday.

I’m glad to see something new will be happening with Hope/Aiden, and I’m looking forward to seeing Marie Wilson.

Good one, EmmyLoser! I read Ken’s interview with DR and this is an instance of new blood coming in as the old guard exits.

I’m pretty excited about this news.  I really liked the beginning part of her run on ATWT and felt she got too much flack midway through where the writing for her was all over the place.  And then she picked it up nicely towards the end as ‘NutMeg’.

On second thought, MW could have made a decent Billie instead, but I’ll take what I can get.

Thanks, eastwest! That Ken Corday interview, combined with what I’ve been seeing happening, is actually making me a little more confident about the show going forward without three of its biggest stars.

And I agree, gdfl, MW could have been a pretty good Billie.  Any chance ‘Bree’ is code for Billie?   Probably not, I guess, but I tend not to believe the character names until they show up on screen.  I’m still thinking there’s a chance Melissa Archer’s ‘Serena’ might be Sarah Horton.

She was my least favorite Karen on PC.  I liked in this order:  Carrie Shayne; Jennifer Hammon; Marie Wilson.
