    1. BILLY MILLER, The Young and the Restless (the episode in which Billy imagines what life would have been like if Delia lived was amazing, all of the grief scenes over Delia’s death. I will be very surprised if he doesn’t win his 3rd Emmy)
    2. CHRISTIAN LeBLANC, The Young and the Restless (Michael’s separation from Lauren during the Carmine story was superbly acted – the episode in which Michael and Lauren try to trust each other again was a standout)
    3. JAMES SCOTT, Days Of Our Lives (the scene where E.J. grovels and makes a deal with Stefano in order to free Sami was ridiculously good; also the scene in which E.J. and Sami work things out from early in the year was extremely well acted)
    4. JASON THOMPSON, General Hospital (I thought he was better in 2012 and again the past month in 2014, but JT had great scenes during the Nurses’ Ball and later when he found out that Robin was still alive. He’s great with Emma too)
    5. ROGER HOWARTH, General Hospital (wish he had submitted for OLTL instead; prefer him as Todd Manning, but his high energy acting is often fun to watch)
    6. SHAWN CHRISTIAN, Days Of Our Lives (Daniel Jonas is best when he is away from Jennifer – all of his scenes away from her were excellent, esp. with Nicole and J.J. Also, with his son. He’s better than he is given credit for, but I think it’s because Daniel & Jennifer simply don’t work as a “supercouple”)
    7. DOUG DAVIDSON, The Young and the Restless (he doesn’t belong in the LEAD category for 2013; last year’s winner did do some excellent work, particularly at the beginning of the year in scenes with a suicidal Jamie)
    8. PETER BERGMAN, The Young and the Restless (the 18-time nominee is always competent and he had really good scenes at the end of the addiction storyline and during the Summer paternity story, but I would like for PB to be “breaked” from the finalist list)
    9. JOHN McCOOK, The Bold and the Beautiful (another one who belongs in the supporting actor category; always good but not really Emmy-worthy for me)
    10. MAURICE BENARD, General Hospital (O.K., I simply hate Sonny. I also believe that MB forgets his lines, steps on other actors’ lines, and only really shines when he’s given solo arias. He’s not a favorite, to put it mildly)

So, how do you rank the 10 pre-nominees?

    1.  BILLY MILLER:  Agree that Miller will easily walk away with a parting gift.

    2.  JASON THOMPSON:  Was thisclose last year and had another great year with Robin’s return.

    3.  PETER BERGMAN:  The gold standard.

    4.  JAMES SCOTT:  The accent alone makes him a great actor.  LOL.

    5.  JOHN MCCOOK:  He has 2 nods under his belt.  I never found him that appealing.

    6.  CHRISTIAN LEBLANC:  He’ll likely make the cut, but I find his acting to be WAY OVER THE TOP!!!!

    7.  MAURICE BENARD:  Ugg.  I hate Sonny Corinthos.  But Benard has some good material with Connie’s death.

    8.  DOUG DAVIDSON:  Was much more supporting this year, but he is the reigning champ.

    9.  ROGER HOWARTH:  Hate Franco.  Loved Todd and Paul Ryan.  But you have to give him credit for trying to make it work.

    10.  SHAWN CHRISTIAN:  No freakin’ way.  Is this a joke?

My preditions:  Miller, Bergman, LeBlanc, Thompson and Scott

My thoughts exactly, he’s the worst actor on the show now that casey diedrich has left. if he gets a nod over james scott i’ll be pissed…if he gets a nod, my jaw will drop. lol

I disagree about Shawn Christian – he’s actually quite good when his character is away from Jennifer. He has chemistry with Nicole, Eric, Brady, Maggie, Parker, J.J., Teresa, Anne – he’s always watchable, but he doesn’t have chemistry with Jennifer! Should he be nominated? No. But does he have Emmy-reel material that might appeal to a blue ribbon panel? Yes. But the competition is too fierce, so I sure would be surprised if he made the cut.

I think the nominees will be Benard, LeBlanc, Miller, Scott and Thompson (subject to change when i see what the actors have submitted)

You could not be more wrong about Shawn Christian.  He is a very so-so mediocre actor…no way in hell does he deserve this pre-nomination…he is very much the weakest male actor on the show….and I further disagree on chemistry he shares with other characters…Daniel is shoved down our throats 24/7 and is mostly universally hated by fans across the board.

Daniel is the big black eye on DAYS right now…take him away and the show is damn near perfection….so I hope Christian does not get a nomination because he certainly does not deserve one and it would seriously taint the Emmy’s in my eyes.  Christian is very good at “constipated” acting…and that is all.

With that said – here are my rankings:

    1.) Billy Miller (Y&R)
    2.) Jason Thompson (GH)
    3.) Peter Bergman (Y&R)
    4.) James Scott (DAYS)
    5.) Christian LeBlanc (Y&R)
    6.) Doug Davidson (Y&R)
    7.) John McCook (B&B)
    8.) Roger Howarth (GH)
    9.) Maurice Benard (GH)
    10.) Shawn Christian (DAYS)
