The actress announced that she will return to the Disney Channel to star and executive produce a sequel series to That’s So Raven. She will play a single mother.

Her last View appearance will be before the end of the calendar year.

Agreed. The departure of Raven Symone will benefit the program.

This season’s revised panel and its emphasis on politics has connected with viewers. The political dialogue has boosted ratings by half a million women daily, though the show still loses more than a million viewers from its lead in of Live With Kelly. The series routinely ties in the ratings with its CBS mirror image The Talk.

Mostly it’s evident that moderator Whoopi Goldberg, now only appearing four days a week, is bored. Her contract expires at the conclusion of the season.

Live with Kelly doesn’t lead into The View in all markets because unlike The View it’s a syndicated show not network. In my market, Kelly airs on the CW affiliate.

Hard to agree when yesterday’s heated conflict between Kellyanne Conway and the women of The View is a leading story on national news programs.

I can’t speak about the whole program because I stop watching after the first 15 minutes of political debate, but those first two segments are must see TV for me.

The View does still have its moments, and like many talk and variety shows seems to be benefiting from the high drama of this presidential election. If the show is tying The Talk in the ratings, I’d say that’s actually pretty good. (The Talk seems more fun and better positioned at its network to do well.)

As far as Raven Symone, I think it’s probably best for her and the show that they part ways. I don’t see The View all that often, but whenever I saw Raven on the show, it felt like she was trying to be contrarian or controversial, in a way that mostly seemed to irritate viewers.
