I haven’t looked to see how I did, but I know there was no way EVER in my life I would have predicted Lauralee Bell as an Emmy nominee in any category related to acting.  I bet she feels rather vindicated this morning.  (Sorry, not a fan of The Bug or her portrayer).

Nonetheless, WHERE THE HE** IS KELLY SULLIVAN??? Why were all the other front runners (Geary, DePaiva, Young, King, Craig) nominated but not her?  This is the second time she’s been snubbed.  It’s furious for those of us who recognize her tremendous acting abilities.

But I digress.  I am thrilled that there are so many worthy nominees this year like Finola Hughes, Maura West, Kassi DePaiva, Anthony Geary, Justin Hartley, Bryan Craig, Peggy McCay (who finally found her way to the correct category), even Jessica Collins and Tyler Christopher are worthy, and while I’m not a fan, Melissa Reeves had some good moments.

What bothers me are the nominations of Tracey Bregman, Christian LeBlanc, Kristoff St. John, Max Ehrich, and Lauralee Bell.  I do not get the love for Y&R actors after such a critcally-blasted year.  Although I guess we have to give Bregman and St. John their due in having now been nominated in all three acting categories.  St. John could even join Heather Tom for winning all three should he prevail this year.

I’ll work on the stats later.

Thanks for listening to my rant!

Lauralee Bell had a great storyline last year.   She was already selected Best Supporting Actress for 2015 by TV Guide.  Bregman, LeBlanc and Ehrich had an incredibly written family story line in ’15 as well, plenty of beautifully performed work to select from, and I could see each of them winning their respective categories.   Ditto for Emmy fav Kristoff St. John, an Emmy winner in two different (Younger Actor and Supporting Actor) categories already.

RE:   Kelly Sullivan.   She was/is excellent.   However, she was snubbed for her great work on GH as well.  She simply does not resonate with the Emmy panel.   I was not surprised by her omission.
