Our daytime national nightmare is over…

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/tv/2014/06/26/sherri-shepherd-leaving-the-view/11437147/

Jenny McCarthy is a danger to the public health an why she was ever given this platform in the first place is beyond me. Luckily she was obviously uncomfortable in the job. Sherri…well. I’m not going to hate on The Queen of Jordan too hard but let’s just say some horizons could stand broadening?

The View has been AWFUL this whole year. They are trying to go after the younger audience and the show is terrible to watch sometimes. The Selfies, the weekley gossip round up…just not working. I also hear Bill Geddy, the Ex producer might be leaving too..well I say let whoopi go and get a whole fresh look for next year.

My  picks will be Star Jones, Joy Behar, Megan McCain, and Ricki Lake. Younger and Old, Left and Right wing…good mix. Please don’t bring on any men. I hear Ross Matthews might be joining next year. I hope not..i don’t like men on the panel..and PLEASE NO Mario Cantone!! he is too loud and only tells jokes about people that USE to be famous back in the 50-70’s..

Well The View is barely a shadow of its former glory, but I don’t think these two were the problem.  From what I saw, I thought Jenny had realized that she was a controversial choice and was going out of her way to fit in, but the show has no identity at this point so she was basically firing in the dark.  Until they figure that out, it doesn’t matter who is sitting at that table, and my first reaction to this was that it’s sad that they seem to be blaming their problems on those two.

Not surprising.  The women of The Talk have far better chemistry together and are more entertaining and have been gaining on The View in the ratings.

Yeah, not surprised Jenny McCarthy was fired. I love how she tried to pass off on Twitter that she quit. Ummm no. You were clearly canned. Surprised Sherri is leaving, but it sounds like that was more contract negotiations that fell through.

I just think it’s hilarious that Whoopi, who looks absolutely miserable every single day on that show, is still sticking around. She must be paid REAL well.

I also hope they don’t bring on men. I just don’t see how that dynamic will work on a permanent basis and it completely goes against why the show was created. And Ross Matthews? Yuck.

They need to go for the big guns. Get Rosie, get Katie Couric, and someone young. Along with Whoopi, THAT’S a panel I would watch.

With Rosie and Whoopi already on-board, this likely won’t happen, but for a long time I’ve thought Connie Chung would be perfect for this job.
