What was so odd about it is that all four of the other actors’ scenes were from their actual reels – how on earth did Guy Wilson (with zero dialogue! Deidre Hall had ALL the dialogue!) show up in a 2014 clip from Days instead of Will holding Arianna in the hospital scene that made up his actual 2013 Emmy reel?

Did it also seem like he had been banished to the rear exit?

There is a great 9+ minute clip up on YouTube of all 3 of his Emmy wins in a row!!!!! (: His second acceptance speech was his best, by far…

SO GLAD CHANDLER WON (although I would have preferred Freddie Smith)

Loved his joke “wasn’t my Emmy reel awesome?” – I wonder how many knew that was the wrong clip and also the wrong ACTOR????

They were probably mad because he ditched the sinking that is daytime. Many of the audience members caught it; that’s why they laughed in unison when Massey poked fun at it.

I don’t think the people working on the production knew enough about daytime television to be mad at him.

My guess is someone at the Emmys thought “lets play the wedding instead” not even putting two and two together that it wasn’t the same actor.

^^Yeah, I think that’s right.  Based on the knowledge level of those red carpet hosts (who seemed to know all along the audience would hate them and yet bravely soldiered on in their ignorance), I would guess someone saw that character was part of an historic wedding a couple of months ago and said, “Let’s use that instead.”  I wonder if they asked someone at DAYS for that clip, and what they thought when they handed it over.

It seemed like all of the non-soap people were seated way far away from the stage and took forever to get up there.  For whatever reason, Chandler wasn’t seated with DAYS.  It would have been nice to see them all playing nice and getting along, but I guess that wasn’t meant to be.  Sadly, I’m at the point with Guy Wilson where I need more or need them to bring in someone else, so I’m missing Chandler really hard right now.

DAYS was quick to condemn NATAS for the error….Judie who responsible for all DAYS publicity and was the one responsible for giving them the correct reels said she sent NATAS the proper reel for CM and they chose to throw up the Gay Wedding, without DAYS knowing how they even got it….she called the move an embarassment.  I am not even sure if they had permission from NBC/DAYS/SONY to even AIR that material…they could be in very hot water over that.

I don’t think DAYS or anyone affiliated with them had ANY part in this error.

Many at DAYS gave him a standing ovation when he won though…I saw Ken Corday and the NBC heads standing and clapping whem CM won…he was not seated with DAYS…but DAYS actors were certainly cheering for him and MANY had tweeted pics with him celebrating his win….I don’t think there is ANY bad blood AT all and people are just trying to sensationalize this “feud” between DAYS/GW and CM…especially CM’s fans.

I think CM is just trying to distance himself from daytime…and that is all.  He is the only winner who is not going to THE TALK this morning along with the other 5 acting winners from Y&R/DAYS.

GW tweeted a huge congratulations on CM three-peating.

Yes, I know a lot of the cast, Guy Wilson included, has been very supportive of Chandler, and generally there doesn’t seem to be bad blood.  I like your theory, Scoopster, so I’ll go with it.

Also, now that I think about it, DAYS publicized Will and Sonny’s wedding so much that they must have sent out a ton of clips and material to lots of media outlets.  They could have sent this to NATAS in April to promote the wedding, and they may have just grabbed it and used it.

Talk about awkward! Chandler handled it like a pro, though. I’m SO happy he won. IMO he had the best tape and is the best actor of the bunch. I miss him so much as Will. I sure hope it was NATAS fault for screwing up the tape and not anything DAYS did purposefully. Most of the cast was standing for Chandler and seem happy for him. I felt bad he was shoved in the back of the room but I guess it’s because he’s not on the show??? That I found odd. Billy Miller, Elizabeth Hendrickson all sat with Y&R and they are no longer on the show. Also, Chandler didn’t want to do any press afterwards but I can’t say I blame him.

Masseys being kind of ridiculous about boycotting so much of daytime now except collecting awards.

Honestly, I am certain that if he hadn’t shown up at the awards last night, he’d be getting flack for that as well.

Plus, I truly believe that he was surprised to win again. If you watch closely after his name is called, you can see the sheer SHOCK on his manager’s face before Chandler heads up to the stage. I do not believe he came last night with the assumption that he was going to win. I think he came out of respect for his final affiliation with the show. I will just never understand why some people choose to think the worst of him. From everything I have seen (including the way he handled last night), he is a genuine, classy and extremely humble guy. I wish him the best.

What does that mean? Like the fact that he decided to leave a daytime show to try something else? Not every soap actor wants to be Susan Lucci/Peter Bergman.

If he hadn’t shown up to the Emmys, you probably would be saying he’s too stuck up for it.

Why just show up for the Emmys? Billy miller isn’t on y&r , Eileen Davidson isn’t on days. Masseys behavior is ridiculous. I don’t understand doing one thing but boycotting all associating things.

I am not interested in going around and around about this, but your comparisons make no sense. Yes Eileen is off of DAYS too, but she is heading to Y&R (and will likely do double duty again at some point). Billy is off of Y&R, but there are rumors that he is going to GH.

Chandler, however, left DAYS so that he could go back to school. He is completely out of the soap community right now. He’s not “boycotting” anything–just pursuing other endeavors. Where else exactly are you expecting that he should be showing up? I don’t understand what your issue is.

Yeah, I don’t see why he should feel obligated to do a whole press circuit/go on The Talk/whatever else for a whole he hasn’t played in almost a year now in a community of which he’s really no longer a part.  Eileen Davidson has an upcoming run on DAYS and just returned to Y&R, so despite not being on the air since Y&R earlier this year, she arguably has more reason to do press than anyone.  And Miller is of course free to do or not do whatever press stuff he wants, as are all the other winners.  Except for whatever their networks make them do, of course.
