Well, at least this is SOMETHING. But good god, how hard is it to find a broadcast partner!?!? For goodness sake, air it on Comedy Central! I don’t care! Just PUT IT ON TV!
Streamlined Emmys could be a good thing – I prefer a simpler cleaner Emmy awards, without the clutter – I don’t need the host to sing, or for the show to be an advertisement for Las Vegas (2 years in a row!). I only care about the soap categories, and what I most want is to see clips from the nominated reels and the actors/actresses in the audience. Watching old youtube clips I prefer the ones where there is more than just a list of he names of the nominees. So, it could be a good thing. I still think they should have accepted TVGN’s offer; they could have additionally streamlined for those who don’t get TVGN. Beggars can’t be choosers and the networks don’t want a low-rated awards show.
The price tag with airing on a network television or on a cable network is the deciding factor here. I would love to see a wonderful production like the glory years of daytime television with so many soap shows to be in competition with. The glitz and glamour has diminished considerably over the past 3-5 years, for sure. and not getting any better. The ratings have really gone down drastically too. If the show is to end up being streamlined, that would be OK except that computers crash and with the traffic, how slow would things go and the audio/video issues with streamlining shows online too. Maybe TVGN will air the show as a tape delayed thing, the next day or two as a repeat without any streamlining technicial problems.
