I am very intrigued by Victoria’s behavior. What is going on here? Is she developing an alternate personality?
The story of Crystal feels like the type of story Bill Bell would have told back in the day, with the caveat that it would eventually become more compelling. Tessa seems to be connected to Crystal, so maybe that will raise the stakes as the story progresses. I am willing to suspend judgment, as I have come to trust Sally Sussman’s writing.
Speaking of Sally Sussman, her enduring legacy, in addition to cleaning up the show and making it character-driven and respectful of history, will be saving the character of Cane from the doldrums! He has become one of the characters I most enjoy, not because I like Cane, but because he has become so interesting!
I like Ravi. I hope they keep him around. I like Zack too; I hope he doesn’t turn out to be a creep.August 10, 2017 at 6:41 pm #1202181695
The show hasn’t been holding my interest as much as it was even one month ago, not sure exactly why… I also am really disappointed in the non-ending of the Chloe/Kevin story, really dull… I didn’t feel there was any really great payoff (for me anyway) of Nikki’s concert. The show is still excellent but lately I have been turned back on to Days!August 28, 2017 at 7:48 am #1202197231
While Y&R has been good lately it hasn’t for me had a feeling of urgency where I need to watch the show the way it did even just a few months ago. These new storylines aren’t really exciting me very much. The actors, of course, are wonderful though.August 30, 2017 at 3:28 pm #1202199590
Cane has pretty much become my favorite character on Y&R; I certainly did not anticipate this a few months ago. I always enjoy his scenes. I also like most scenes with Victoria, and again that certainly was not the case earlier this year.
Zack is so charming. I hope they are not planning to throw away his character. I really like Ryan Ashton, but the set-up is vaguely reminiscent of Miles Gaston Villanueva. I hope they do not paint Zack’s character into a corner.
I like the character of Jordan, but I do not believe that Hilary would be interested in him. She seems like someone who goes after money and power, and he is too average in that regard.
For the moment at least, I like the way the writers are playing Victor. He is still a manipulative jerk, but not so much in the criminal sense as with past writing regimes.
Chelsea and Nick are enjoyable together; I really do not want to see Adam return. Been there, done that.
Speaking of Nick, I am surprised by the return of Tamara Clatterbuck (Alice Johnson). I can’t help but wonder about the reason for her return and if it will impact Mariah.
Although I like Tessa, the storyline about her sister is pretty boring. Maybe it will get better now that Tessa is opening up and telling people about Crystal. I’m much more interested in her relationships with Mariah and Noah.
The story with Dina is moving very slowly, and I’m not really sure where it is going, if anywhere.
I was surprised to read that Greg Rikaart will be returning so soon. I am assuming it will be short-term, but I am curious as to the reason, since it is reportedly story-dictated.
So overall, while it lacks that must-see quality, it has some good story threads and is the most realistic and character-driven of the soaps.September 4, 2017 at 4:58 pm #1202203594
The confrontation between Victoria and Phyllis in the elevator. Yes. I am Team Victoria all the way.
Well, we now have the answer as to why Alice is back and I am somewhat disappointed. I had hoped it would be something more interesting. And I’m very disappointed that the writers are throwing Zack under the bus.
I guess that the writers are trying to imply that Scott and Abby’s tense relationship will eventually turn romantic. But I really cannot see that. Abby is so annoying that I don’t think Scott would ever find her attractive. He actually works rather well with Sharon.September 14, 2017 at 5:40 pm #1202213101
This is probably going to sound crazy, but remember the scene from the other day where Alice was in her living room talking to a young lady with a foreign accent? Was that Camryn Grimes? That is to say, Camryn with some really different makeup…September 14, 2017 at 6:01 pm #1202213121
Hmmm.. well, that would be interesting! (: Anything that gives Camryn more screen time is all right with me (;September 21, 2017 at 6:35 pm #1202220672
I was very unhappy with the Kevin/Victor scenes today. The character of Victor shows zero growth or evolution. He never learns from past mistakes. I am so done with Victor.
Overall, I feel like the show is spinning its wheels. There are a lot of loose threads right now and I would like to see some progress on at least one of the stories.September 21, 2017 at 8:31 pm #1202220710
One of the biggest problems I have with the show are the couple’s. I’m not into Nick/Chelsea. I’m not into the Victor/Nikki/Jack triangle (or whatever it is). Phyllis/Billy aren’t that interesting to me either. I’d love to see Paul/Christine and Lauren/Michael more often and in a front burning storyline. I’d like to see Graham and Gloria scenes, too. I loved their scenes together, then the writers seemed to forget about them.September 21, 2017 at 9:51 pm #1202220739
Yes, the show is def. spinning its wheels right now. I haven’t been feeling compelled, interested, excited; I don’t care for the couples in a sense of rooting for them. I am enjoying the actors, esp. Marla Adams and Camryn Grimes, but otherwise I have been bored for a few months now. this show was so compelling earlier in the year but the wheels have started to come off… will Michael ever have another storyline?
