After winning back to back Emmy’s for Talk Show-Entertainment in 2008 and 2009 and getting nominated from 2010-2011 Rachael Ray has earned only a sole nomination in 2014 and has been snubbed ever since.
My question is why? Is it a ratings factor? has the quality of her show declined? I can’t understand why she’s being snubbed when crap like The Real or Wendy Williams garners nominations.
Is it just a matter of Emmy wanting to play with the new kids on the block and ditching the old hats?
Rachael Ray is something of an interesting case because I think she’s a little more polarizing than your average TV cooking personality. I know a lot of people personally who don’t think much of her as a cook, despite the success she’s earned, so that could have become a factor. There is also an awkwardness to her being in the entertainment category rather than informative. Or it could just be voters either preferring newer shows or preferring different shows in that category.
