As of this past Sunday, three current Y&R stars now have Emmys: Eileen Davidson, Amelia Heinle, and Hunter King. Of the four currently airing soaps, I would say Y&R for sure has the cast with most Emmys.

Current Cast Members w/ an Emmy:
    – Lauralee Bell (1; won this year for Special Class Short Format Daytime)
    – Peter Bergman (3)
    – Eric Braeden (1)
    – Tracey E. Bregman (1)
    – Steve Burton (1, for GH)
    – Sharon Case (1)
    – Tricia Cast (1)
    – Doug Davidson (1)
    – Eileen Davidson (1, for DAYS)
    – Camryn Grimes (1)
    – Amelia Heinle (1)
    – Bryton James (1)
    – Christel Khalil (1)
    – Hunter King (1)
    – Christian LeBlanc (3)
    – Beth Maitland (1)
    – Cady McClain (1 for ATWT, 1 for AMC; 2 total)
    – Greg Rikaart (1)
    – Kristoff St. John (2)
    – Gina Tognoni (2, for GL)
    – Jess Walton (2)

No longer at Y&R but Emmy winner nonetheless:
    – Jeanne Cooper (1; 2 if you count Lifetime Achievement)
    – Genie Francis (1, for GH)
    – Adrienne Frantz (1, for B&B)
    – Rick Hearst (1 for GL, 2 for GH; 3 total)
    – David Lago (1)
    – Billy Miller (3)
    – Shemar Moore (1)
    – Debbi Morgan (1, for AMC)
    – Julie Pinson (1, for ATWT)
    – Eden Riegel (1, for AMC)
    – Michelle Stafford (2)
    – David Tom (1)
    – Heather Tom (2 for Y&R, 3 for B&B; 5 total)
    – Billy Warlock (1, for DAYS)

Current castmembers nominated but have never won:
    – Jessica Collins (1)
    – Melissa Claire Egan (2 for Y&R, 3 for AMC; 5 total)
    – Joshua Morrow (5)
    – Melody Thomas Scott (1)

If you see anyone I should add (I’m sure there are winners who were at Y&R at some point, but I overlooked them), let me know.

I always assumed Y&R had the most Emmy winners in its cast, but it would be interesting to see lists for the other shows.  GH may have a decent set of them, but then I guess GH doesn’t really have a lot of its Emmy winners anymore.

    GH:
    Jane Elliott
    Anthony Geary
Kim McCullough (soon to be returning)
    Michelle Stafford
    Finola Hughes
    Ian Buchanan
    Maura West
    Roger Howarth
    Kristen Alderson
    Nancy Lee Grahn
    Rick Hearst
    Laura Wright

    Anybody else over there?

The DAYS list is pretty short:
Eileen Davidson (I’m counting her since she’ll soon be back on)
    Eric Martsolf
    Suzanne Rogers

Wow, is that it? Did I forget someone?

    B&B has a few:
    Heather Tom
    Scott Clifton
    Rena Sofer
    Darin Brooks
    ???

Just Nominated that are not included in your list:
    Jessica Collins (1)
Melissa Claire Egan (5; 2 for Y&R 3 for AMC)

    Winner not included:
    Christel Khalil (1)

The east coast soaps were very dominant in the Daytime Emmys in the 20th century. But as time passed, Y&R and GH became increasingly prominent. They are, more or less, about equal in their overall Emmy presence.

^^Is Robin Mattson not apart of GH anymore? Because she has 4 noms (1 for GH, 3 for SB) but has yet to win.

Robin Mattson is not appearing currently on GH. But she is likely to pop up again. She characters comes and goes, usually with little to no warning.

I totally meant to put Maurice Benard on that list.  Oops.  And I also realized this morning I had forgotten Judi Evans from DAYS.  Adrienne hasn’t been on in a couple of months (and hilariously, I think the last time they even mentioned her was after the whole Liam debacle, and they kind of blamed her because she’s the one who set Jennifer up with Liam in the first place).

Anyway, thanks for all this great info, jcar!  Aside from the Emmy noms/wins, it’s interesting to note who is and who is not on contract.  It’s probably worth throwing Wally Kurth on the list of DAYS recurring actors also.

I almost included Kurth since he is an Emmy winner for Original song but I know he hasn’t taped on DAYS yet this year which means we will not be seeing him on screen anytime soon (I think they are shooting November by now).  I guess I should of included him on GH’s list he seems to be working more over there.  I didn’t include Robin Mattson because I didn’t consider her active presently.  I guess you could through Thaao Penghlis on GH’s list for recurring since he has popped up there.

Of the four currently airing soaps, I would say Y&R for sure has the cast with most Emmys.

This doesn’t impress me. Reason is because of the cancellation of others soaps, from recent years, and that what’s left on the air in connection to nominations and winnings of Emmys just doesn’t feel significant.

    The statistics are fine.

I have found it interesting how, just as one stat, there were so few individuals who won in lead actor and lead actress for, as example, All My Children. (On the male side, lead actor was won by Darnell Williams and David Canary. No one else. On the female side, lead actress was won by Dorothy Lyman and Susan Lucci. No one else. And this is something given that AMC received lead-actress nominations with, for example, the 27 consecutive years of 1976 to 2002. Every year in that period, AMC didn’t fail to receive a lead-actress nom. And, yet, only two managed to win.) I can say this about Guiding Light and As the World Turns. And it can be said about the currently broadcast General Hospital.

We can give a leg up to The Young and the Restless, which has seen four individual men win lead actor and three individual women win lead actress. But, with the current state of the network soaps’ existence, I’m not blown away.
