I voted for Christian Bale because while I love him as an actor, he was so over the top and was not good at all. There were better nominees than him, including Geoffrey Rush and John Hawkes. If he wasn’t on the list, I would choose Alan Arkin, which is just a body of work win.

Actually, this is my list of best supporting actor Oscar winners according to my preference…
    2001 ~ 2004 : I agree with Academy Awards.
    2005 : Jake Gyllenhaal
    2006 : Eddie Murphy
    2007 ~ 2009 : I agree with Academy Awards.
2010 : GEOFFREY RUSH! (I really loved him in ‘The King’s Speech’, and without him, this movie couldn’t have been made.)

I agree with you, Couch Potato, when it comes to Christian Bale’s win for his over-the-top performance.
    Geoffrey Rush should’ve won.

I thought Jim Broadbent, George Clooney and Alan Arkin gave lackluster performances.  At least, Clooney and Arkin tried to do something interesting with their roles so I have to go with Jim Broadbent here.  He gave a solid performance but it was unmemorable in an unmemorable film.

According to me it’s Alan Arkin, ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ is the The Worst SUpporting Actor OScar Winner from 2001.
