What is one story from history that you think should be made into a film, what is the story about , who do you think should take on this project ?

Very good question!
Dee Rees should direct a Rosa Parks biopic for the big screen. It would focus on the events that made her immortal but also shed some light on her life and legacy as a whole. Rees would be exactly the right helmer for this one.
Another biopic that is long overdue is one of Ella Fitzgerald, and I don’t mean a sappy daytime soap opera but a skillfully dramatized take on Ella’s art, influence and position in the cultural landscape. I would kill to see Octavia Spencer act the hell out of the role and wind up with a Leading Actress Oscar. Directed and written by Ava DuVernay.

It’s always surprised me that no one’s made a decent, serious portrayal of the Richard Speck murders and surrounding investigation/trial considering how massive and shocking of a crime it was. Would love to see Fincher direct Adam Driver or Miles Teller in the role. Second choice would be a Marvin Gaye biopic, I know there’s one in production hell though. Third choice is a Clint Eastwood-led depiction of Federal Express Flight 705 using unknowns because I feel like that’d be something he would do.

I’d say either Nolan or Scorsese.

I like the idea of PTA doing a movie about the neighborhood of Little Harlem in the Los Angeles of the 40s. He’s already discussing that with Tiffany Haddish.
If you could have Christopher Plummer replace an acting nominee from last year in his or her film, which would you choose?February 7, 2018 at 1:41 pm #1202489519

“The 15:17 to Paris”: See it, burn it, or ignore it? Why?February 9, 2018 at 7:44 am #1202490655
Burn it. The trailer made it look abysmal and the reviews seem to bear that out. I feel bad for these guys, who are non-professionals, and got themselves involved with a director who’s not necessarily known for being an acting coach. (He’s sort of Hitchcockian, in that he normally hires people who can act and lets them do their thing.)
If you were an Oscar voter, how would you rank the nine Best Picture nominees?
