Vinny, I prefere the Spiderman Shirt but it depends whether you prefer flashier shirts or not.

Is there a nominated actor/actress who is considered by most undeserving of his/her nomination but that you think he/she’s actually deserving?

    Ops, I meant actors/actresses from this year’s Emmys – but that’s equally fine : )

There’s a lot more people that I think are undeserving but most people think they are.

I think Jonathan Banks is deserving, I think that’s the only one.

SQ, or actor people think are deserving but you don’t.

I feel like most don’t like/understand the Vanessa Bayer nomination, but she’s been my favorite cast member for years now so I love this one for her final season and find it deserving. Also, I’m more than pleased with the Baldwin nomination/win which I know everyone suddenly hates or whatever.

I don’t know if people actually think Judy Davis or Samira Wiley are deserving of their nominations, but neither one impressed me with anything really. Especially Judy Davis who actually did zero things and was clearly a namecheck. Also, I didn’t even see Sherlock or Genius so I can’t truthfully speak to Cumberbatch or Rush’s performances, but I’m annoyed that Jude Law missed out on a nomination because of one of them so haha yeah those two bother me just for that dumb reason.

Just commented on this topic today. If Samira Wiley had to be nominated this year, it should have been for “Orange Is the New Black” where she was win-worthy. Not over Yvonne Strahovski (criminal!), Danielle Brooks, Mandy Moore (where she should have been submitted and likely nodded), Amy Brenneman, Winona Ryder, or my personal favorite, Vanessa Kirby.

Wiley’s Handmaiden nod is about her departure from Orange. Judy Davis was hilarious and fun in all her scenes from Feud.

Vanessa Bayer was always fantastic on SNL and I’m glad we agree about her nomination being deserved.

I completely disagree about Judy Davis doing nothing and being a name-check. I savored her entertainingly wicked portrayal of Hedda Hopper every second she was on screen! She was clearly enjoying getting to play such a juicy villain, and the feeling was mutual for me when I was watching her. For me, Davis was one of the best parts of Feud, and for the show to receive as many Emmy nominations as it did without her being recognized would have been absolutely criminal in my opinion.

I’m happy for Samira Wiley’s nomination. She was excellent in the show, but I’m not going to act like there are others who were in my opinion more deserving, like Yvonne Strahovski “The Handmaid’s Tale” or the effectively subtle and still yet to be recognized Rhea Seehorn “Better Call Saul.” I’m thrilled for any Emmy love The Handmaid’s Tale can get, but while I will continue to support Wiley’s nod as being worthy on its own merits, I’m not going to act like she was truly one of the best drama supporting performances of the entire year.

I LOVED Alec Baldwin’s Trump at first… but then it wore on me, and I think a lot of other people too. It was funny at first, but enough is enough at a certain point, considering all the tragic real-world impact Drumpf is having on this world. Sometimes horrific reality makes satire inappropriate or even offensive. Besides, I think a large part of the backlash against Baldwin’s potential Emmy win stems not only from how much harder it is to laugh at even a Trump parody, but from seeing a superior Trump impersonation on The President Show receive no Emmmy love at all.

I can truthfully speak to Cumberbatch’s performance because I saw it, and yeah he was amazing in “The Lying Detective” and completely deserved his nomination. I haven’t seen Genius, yet I still would have nominated Jude Law and The Young Pope over Rush and his show on a level of cultural impact, if that makes any sense.

If there is a tie on ANY category on Emmy night, which would it be, who would it be between, and why?

The tie that seems to be the best to end debate would be Lange and Kidman.

    1. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lanks.
    2. Black Mirror
    3. Sherlock
    4. Dolly Parton’s Christmas Thing
    5. The dreadful Wizard of Lies

Which  GoldDerby poster would you like to watch the Emmys with and what beverage would you serve?
