For some reason, this site insists on posting my “real name” rather than my “user name” when I comment.  It won’t let me change in profile.  Do I have to close my account and reregister?

Same here and it’s because of signing in from FB. But for it not to sign in with FB automatically is tough. Who knows.

You’re not logging in through facebook, are you? That happened to me once, where it posted my real name and my photo. So, I never ever log in through facebook. Not that I have anything against anyone knowing my name or what I look like. Lol.

Anyways, if you log in exclusively through GD it shouldnt happen. But if it does, I suggest writing to both Tom and Stapletonic. Or, you can try reregistering thru GD and stay away from FB.

Btw I’m noticing that my posts are timing out again. That’s not good for an amateur typist like me.

Since work FINALLY blocked Facebook on our computers, I think I’m gonna go back to my non-FB profile. It’ll have the same pic and similar name so you know my brilliance is still brilliant. Plus, now I won’t have to worry about my real name being part of any replies. How else can I remain an international man of mystery.

By the way, I rarely got on FB at work. I mostly used it to sign in to here during lunch haha

I had the same problem a few years ago and I had to have Tom and the IT guys delete the profile with my real name and I just never logged in from FB again.   I just was never comfortable with the idea of my full name and FB profile being public knowledge.
