I am simply suggesting that they deal only with the awards and the accomplishments of the actors. This is not the political view show. It is a show about movies and tv. Yes the producers of this show and all the others should stifle this. I just want to watch and not hear their opinions on the president elect. I have watched these shows for many years, but I won’t anymore. That’s my choice.
These shows have always been somewhat political. Forbidding people from bringing up political topics in their speeches is Un-American. If Jon Voight, James Woods or James Caan won some kind of award I may have to hear some political talk I don’t like, but I wouldn’t want them to be forbidden from doing it. Skip the awards as that is your choice but it is ridiculous that conservatives expect entertainers, and athletes as well, to be free of political thought when they wouldn’t expect the same from people in any other professions. Just because you buy a ticket to see them does not mean you own them.January 9, 2017 at 5:31 pm #1201984068
No account just a pissed off normal American voicing my opinion on whiny out of touch actors.
Hey guess what, she’s a pissed of normal American. You do realize that when people call stars out of touch, that it is a load of crap. They world with people up and down the pay scale.
Funny how Trump wanted all these stars at his convention, but when the A, B, C, and D list turned him down, his tune changed.Oleg TomParticipantJoinedDec 20th, 2014Total Topics1Posts109January 9, 2017 at 6:23 pm #1201984098
Meghan McCain slammed the Devil Wears Prada star. “This Meryl Streep speech is why Trump won,” the talk radio host tweeted. “And if people in Hollywood don’t start recognizing why and how — you will help him get re-elected.”
So keep it up.
Who really cares what an elitist entertainer thinks about politics? Come on, what a waste of time. I wish she had provided anecdotes about her incredible body of work (except for Mama Mia, please).
I suppose she is not concerned about the large number of Trump supporters who used to go to her movies. However, I will certainly continue to support Meryls work despite her political vacuity.
Agreed with most of what you said. It’s just that someone I thought of highly turning into a snotty elitist is depressing. Buy yeah, if she did a play I’d see it in a second as I’ve seen her on stage long ago.January 9, 2017 at 6:25 pm #1201984099
Donald Trump was born with a golden dildo up his ass, can’t get more elitist than that.Oleg TomParticipantJoinedDec 20th, 2014Total Topics1Posts109January 9, 2017 at 6:27 pm #1201984100
Well, now Streep has a giant platinum one up hers. LolJanuary 9, 2017 at 6:27 pm #1201984101
And what is hilarious is that Trump called her excellent during an interview last year, but suddenly she is overrated. Nothing like another lie. Bitch go fucking fact check your past statements.babypookParticipantJoinedNov 4th, 2010Total Topics107Posts14302January 10, 2017 at 5:01 am #1201984471
I am a huge fan of all these award shows….. hence the word AWARD SHOW. How many of us would love to just hear about the actors and the great shows that are out there that deserve awards?????!!!!!!. Please Golden Globes STIFLE your actors on their soap boxes about political matters. This is not Washington DC.</p>
Huge movie, t.v. fan
Rip carrie fisher and debbie Reynolds and Yeahhhhhh meryl streep!!!!!
I understand what you’re saying but can anyone breathe, walk, eat, and speak without being political?
I don’t think so.
I may not agree with what they’re saying, and I may even feel somewhat annoyed by their agendas, but IMO, they can say whatever they want. It’s a ‘free’ country in theory is it not? LOL!!!!
Better to be silent and thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt?
If no one says anything, the status quo remains.
