I just spent upwards of 3 hours of my life creating a very detailed and informative awards show for this website that I thought would have been a lot of fun.
It would have been similar to the Emmys, but only awards shows that were canceled during this broadcast season.
Now, when I clicked post, this did not upload. That is now three hours that I have completely wasted. Why would you do this to me GoldDerby?July 11, 2013 at 11:05 pm #450112
In Firefox and chrome, you can usually press back and your text will appear again.
Then I copy and paste just in case.
…You may have been able to salvage your hard work.July 11, 2013 at 11:13 pm #450113
I tried that, it did not work. I went back, tried to post again and it wouldn’t, and the copy and paste just never works for me on this site.July 11, 2013 at 11:41 pm #450114
The “normal” to copy and paste doesn’t work on this site. You have to select your text and then press CTRL + C. And to paste CTRL + V.July 12, 2013 at 12:54 am #450115
Anything that takes me longer than 5 minutes, I ctrl + c or paste into Word as a backup. But yeah, we shouldn’t *have* to worry about things like that.July 12, 2013 at 7:03 am #450116
Yeah, Goldderby has this problem. Especially with long posts, you should copy (ctrl+c) before you “post reply”.July 12, 2013 at 9:17 am #450117
Long posts ALWAYS have to be copied first. This site causes this same problem for me every other day. Whenever I hit a second or third long paragraph, I always copy….July 12, 2013 at 9:44 am #450118
Occasionally, even the short single paragraphs are enough.July 12, 2013 at 11:16 am #450119
What I normally do, is when I’m typing a long paragraph, I always press post reply in the middle, even if I’m not done. Then I go back and edit it and finish it,July 12, 2013 at 11:55 am #450120
There are many glitches here that have never been resolved, but this one is one of the biggies. ALWAYS copy and paste your long posts, and even the short ones that you don’t necessarily want to type out again. You’ll be timed out if you take too long to post.July 13, 2013 at 8:43 am #450121
All of the above sweethearts. All of the above.
Btw, the post doesnt necessarily have to be long. It happens at any time, esp if you happen to be a one-finger typist like me. The “What books have you read”thread?
Uh-huh. No way I’m attempting that one again, at least anytime soon.July 13, 2013 at 10:36 am #450122
Sorry about the problem you had, Adam! I don’t know what happened so I don’t know how we can fix it. As for the time-out issue, we’re working on that now. Facebook has new sign-in measures that we had to install and it ratfucked the system we had set up before, which kept us all signed in.
