The 2013 MTV Movie Awards will air live on Sunday, April 14 and will be hosted by Rebel Wilson.

Will Ferrell will receive the inaugural Comedic Genius Award.

The nominations will be announced on Tuesday, March 5 at 7:58 p.m. ET on MTV (Movie of the Year nominees) and MTV.com (30-minute live stream for the announcement of the remaining categories).

They might be really bad this year. The first sign we have: there will be a category for Best Shirtless Performance. How many actors from “Magic Mike” will they nominate?

The last year for Twilight to win Best Movie. Since we know it already has this sewn up, who wins Best Actress? Does JLaw do a repeat from last year (Hunger Games) and get it for SLP?

Maybe this will be where Lincoln finally beats Argo  (note the sarcasm)

Uh, what’s the point of that category? I predict the winner will strip during their acceptance speech.

The only redeeming factor in this year’s awards, once again, is the host. Rebel Wilson is freakin amazing and I’m looking forward to what she’ll do.

These awards are amess. Last year’s nominations were a step in the right direction (limited Twilight nods, shoutouts to Drive, Harry Potter, TGWTDT etc.), but the winners proved once again that we are far from what this show was in the 90s, honoring worthy films like Pulp Fiction, Seven, and The Matrix.

I pray that the Best Movie nominees end up something like The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, Looper, Skyfall, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower, but lord knows this ain’t happening.

These awards really are a joke, with the whole Twilight Popularity contest, but the fact that Rebel Wilson is hosting is a major plus. Do hope they acknowledge Perks, Avengers, and Dark Knight Rises. For breakthrough performance, I can see Wallis, Miller, and Wilson nominated.

They should bring back the Song from a movie category, just so we can see Adele accept another award

This logically means that Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 is going to win this year. So the MTV Best Movie Award and the Razzie for Worst Picture may be the same! How exciting!

Both the Hunger Games and the last Harry Potter movie lost to Twilight. Don’t underestimate the power that yearning vampire stares have on a tween demographic.

Last year’s shake up was definitely a welcome news. They deservingly snubbed Twilight in all major categories except Best Movie, which it won. They nominated Michelle Williams for Best Actress for crying out loud. But it still couldn’t turn the tide againt those Twilight tweens. This year isn’t going to be any different.

LOL! Well, I certainly hope so. Trading off BS for less bs is fine by me.

Were those the official nominations? Why is Kristen Stewart nominated twice for actress?
