So, the People’s Choice Awards have opened voting for next years nominees.  Exciting!

All I can think of, though, is: PLEASE VOTE FOR MY TWO LADIES!*

*All things considered, Meryl will and should win this one, but show Jessica some love, too

O I see. The men are “Favorite Action Movie Star”(s) and the women are “Favorite Face of Heroism” presented by a box of tissue.

    Such sexist labelling.

Agreed. I can think of at least 20 men who deserve to be there more than Holly Hunter.

I suppose it’s nice of them to sponsor the ladies heroine category. But I’m left to wonder why the Male Action “Star” isnt brought to us by Trojan.

lol. I’m actually all WTF about Blythe Danner.  I mean, she spawned GOOP.  Literally.

Aside from her, I think all the ladies up there deserve consideration.  My final list:

    Meryl Streep
    Jessica Lange
    Maggie Smith
    Sally Field
    Susan Sarandon (alt: Sigourney Weaver)

Yes well, as soon as I saw Blythe Danner’s name, I knew I’d be voting for her, Lovin’ Molly.

I think they’re thinking of Adams in “Trouble With the Curve” more than, “The Master”, which doesnt sound too much like a “people’s” thing. Which reminds me, I’m a little surprised that Justin Timerlake isnt up there somewhere.

I thought of that too,  ‘pook, but since Phoenix and Hoffman made it for The Master in the dramatic movie category, I decided to put Adams for that movie.  At any rate, duly edited to reflect *both* performances.

I really thought I understood this group of voters. But now, I’m bamboozled again. I’m trying to think of reasons why a film like “The Master” makes it here even on a long list of possibles. Outside of the fanbase for Amy Adams, and then Phoenix and Hoffman, there is just no way this film represents “the people’s choice”. Just, no. I’d say the box office is somewhat of a reflection of that.

O well. It’s the “People’s Choice”. I’ll get a headache trying to figure them out.

At least they didn’t send J-Lo through for What to Expect….that would be star-frakking deluxe.
