Paramount just released the first FYC pages of the season, for the films Noah, Transformers: Age of Extinction and Men, Women and Children. Interstellar, Top Five, The Gambler and Selma are all also on the site, but they are “coming soon”.

I will update this whenever new ones come about.

Is the “for your consideration in all categories” label their because it’s the default for awards campaigning or do they think Transformers: Age of Extinction has a chance because let’s be real here it doesn’t.

Well, it says “all categories”, but does not list any actors.

I don’t understand why Men, Women and Children doesn’t Judy Greer listed for best supporting actress. I mean they probably don’t have any chance at any acting noms anyway but every review I read cited her as one of the standouts if not the standout. But I guess despite not getting nearly as good reviews, Jennifer Garner is the bigger name so she gets the push.

Haha. Smart ! Logan Lerman is not on the FYC in “Noah” for a better and more significant performance than Hopkins’ or the other guys’, because he has “Fury” and it’s more likely to see him nominated for that.

Why aren’t they listing Logan Lerman for Noah? He’s currently on my personal ballot. One of the best things in that dreadful movie!

^ I think it’s to make it more likely for him to get nominated for Fury. A smart move if you ask me.

Why is Noah contending in Original Screenplay when it is obviously adapted from the Bible, albeit very loosely?

I think it’s customary to include the major categories like Picture and Director but it’s really just to give it a push for some tech prizes, I don’t think they’ll be putting too many resources in getting Michael Bay a nomination.

Yeah, it should be in Adapted Screenplay, and considering its based on a direct story from the comics, I can’t see why it would be in Original. Also, if you look at the Ensemble mention, they’re missing Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart yet they have Anna Paquin who had no lines and only a five-second cameo. Their names also appeared on the poster and trailers, while some of the people that are cited (Nicholas Hoult, Shawn Ashmore, Omar Sy) did not.

Exactly. If it was just a sequel and not based on the Marvel comics, then I would understand. But do they think that choosing Original would help them? Judging on how stacked Original is, I think that it would have been smarter to do Adapted, if it wasn’t adapted directly from the comics. It’s like Noah going Original even though it was directly from the first book of Bible. Also, I never noticed that McKellen and Stewart’s names were omitted from the Ensemble. It’s a great Ensemble cast, and they had much more to do with the story than Paquin, Hoult or Sy.

Also, I have the wrong link here. Geez. I’ll fix it now.

BIG HERO 6 IS ALSO SUBMITTING INTO ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY!!!

Geez, Noah, X-Men and Big Hero 6 all going into Original when they are so obviously adapted. What the actual hell are they thinking? Do they really think this will give them an edge on the competition? Pull off a surprise nomination a la Dallas Buyers’ Club?

The FYC page has some additions. The shooting scripts for The Fault in our Stars and Gone Girl can now be downloaded.
