oh… for a second there, I thought you wrote “The LEGO Movie” in there, but it actually read “The Legend of Hercules”

While I didn’t like The Monuments Men, it was not exactly Razzie-worthy, unless this year brings no other bad movies. I sadly (thankfully?) haven’t seen any of the other films on this list, so I’m not the best judge.

    ^

Not surprising.  Having read and enjoyed the book, I knew the second I saw the trailer that the film was going to be all wrong.  Shailene Woodley is miscast; Theo James makes an intriguing Four (not to mention he is hot as hell), but his paring with Shailene is all wrong.  The film also does not look at all visually as I imagined reading the book.   I am also sure they watered it down quite a bit (the book actually has some disturbing elements to it) to appeal to the tween crowd (much like they did with The Hunger Games film)

Interesting Troy. I see that our respect for teenagers remains alive and well amongst us.

I have to see the film of course, but I’m not so sure they’ve “watered it down” for younger audiences, who I find can take all kinds of crap which makes some of we others cringe. Also, I’m not sure what you mean by The Hunger Games being toned down as, I didnt notice anything on screen which didnt also happen in the book(s).

The Divergent novels, another debut series, borrows heavily from other terrific sci-fi authors and takes brain muscle to see where she’s going and why. It’s too bad that the film is getting such shitty reviews, but at least younger people are READING them.

I haven’t read the book but from the trailers Divergent looks like absolute shit.

I’m assuming that Pompeii is proabably a sure thing for a shot a worst picture. It was so brutal.

It is dumbed-down entertainment imo. But the visuals and special effects made it at least watchable. I’m not giving this a Razzie vote anyways.

    WORST MOVIE THIS WEEK
Sabotage with Arnold Schwarzenegger – 17% on Rotten Tomatoes. For David Ayer, that’s a huge step down to go from End of Watch to this!

    WORST MOVIE OF APRIL 18
“A Haunted House 2” with Marlon Wayans – The original was honored with just one nomination for Nick Swardson early this year, but this could be one of the big contenders for Worst Prequel, Remake, Ripoff or Sequel.

He was manhandled by the producers. I wish they had just left him alone.

Poor Arnie. He isnt bad at all in this.

I would volunteer another movie that may have some Razzie potential, the currently limited release “Jinn”. It looks like it could be a huge bomb, it has a 13% on RT and a 24 on Metacritic. Also, the trailer looked terrible, and also quite pricey…

    BONUS WORST MOVIE THIS WEEK
Transcendence with Johnny Depp – 20% on Rotten Tomatoes so far! Another critical flop for Depp after The Lone Ranger.
