AFI’s top 10 list will be announced sometime today.

EDIT — No, these were apparently pushed back to the 16th because of Star Wars. They failed to update their site. Sorry.

    My predictions:

    The Big Short
    Bridge of Spies
    Carol
    Creed
    Inside Out
    Mad Max: Fury Road
    The Martian
    The Revenant
    Spotlight
    Steve Jobs

Brooklyn and Room aren’t eligible for this. They’re not American films.

I remember reading a comminuque about how AFI decided to postpone its announcement to Dec. 16 instead of 7th this year due to the amount of December-released Oscar contenders. Did they change their minds?

    EDIT:http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/envelope/goldstandard/la-et-mn-afi-institute-delay-best-films-list-20151117-column.html

Also if their twitter account has any indication they will eat Creed up.

    Carol
    Inside Out

    Mad Max: Fury Road
    The Martian

Creed and The Hateful Eight are the next in line, possibly replacing Inside Out and Trumbo if they don’t make it on the list.

If the trinity of The Martian, Mad Max, and Star Wars makes it to BP, then this is the best list in the past 10 years.

It’s a good mix. I like that SOC made the list.

Poor Brooklyn, The Revenant, and Hateful Eight.

Nice! A little unfortunate to see Bridge of Spies instead of Brooklyn. But for the most part, I am very pleased with this.

The Departed is the last eligible film to miss AFI and go on to win BP. Not good news for The Revenant (for the ones who think it’ll win).

    Poor Creed. Ugh.

Room shouldn’t be eligible for this.
